Today is Jac's bday party, a month after his actual bday. I postponed due to him cutting two pairs of molars back-to-back that gave him a double ear infection. Plus my A&P class is a bit much.

Today is his bday party and DH has been gone most of the day cutting grass for his dad because he's in the hospital. His band also have a "gig" in town at a senior center. Meanwhile I'm left with crying & clingy boys while I attempt to make fondant, buttercream and a cake for the party. I still want to mop the floors, well at least in the kitchen since I've been working with tons of 10X sugar. I'll assemble and decorate the cake when DH get's home, I will take pics and put them up later.

I also have to make 300-400 pieces for DelTech's annual gala saturday evening. It's a polynesian theme. I'm making hupia and a fruit tartlet with a cocount creme topped with fresh kiwi and mango, brushed with a hero glaze so it's all shiny. I've got to pick up the ingredients for that on Tuesday.

I also need to make some almond biscotti for my hair stylist, that's her tip for when she did my hair last.

For mother's day I need to make up a large batch of English Toffee Brittle and send that off.

I also really need to get around to making a batch of Baklava for a chef at a local restaurant - eventually.

I think that's all...ha! all! Yeah right!!!

Wow.  You should teach me to cook.  I hope your husband gets home soon so you can get on top of the party prep!

Easiest way to learn is to observe I think. Also learning by mistakes helps A LOT! That is one of the quickest ways I learn :o)

Me too!!!! You should have a warning - Pregnant women beware! Mouth watering dishes mentioned!!

I'm going to go look at the cake photos...I have never made fondant...I use marzipan rolled out thin to cover the cake.
