Ewwww - Creepy -

 Last weekend I saw these critters in my backyard......

(It's a very very short clip, so don't blink or you'll miss it)

 

 

 

 

There were LOTS of them, crawling around.  I "THINK" they might have been termites.  As much as I don't like to hurt anything, I stomped them all.  They were easy to get rid of (or so it seemed).

I didn't see anymore.  I guess the live ones must have noticed it wasn't a safe place to be, so they left and didn't come back .....

(at least not for a week)

DID THEY????

 

This morning the back patio was covered in what looked more like termites to me.....................

 

Different looking from last weekend's visitors, but just as plentiful and just as creepy.

These pics aren't too good, cuz those critters are fast.

 

I watered down the patio, and that seemed to be effective.....

but only for a couple hours.

THEY'RE BAAAAAACK!  In full force. 

YIKES!  They are creepy!

 

I made a call to Jeff Hiatt Termite -

They use orange oil - no chemicals -

They're coming out for a free inspection on Wednesday.

I sure hope those creepy critters don't get too comfortable here.

UGH!  I'm just disgusted.  My skin feels ..............

well......................

it feels.......................... creepy!

 

Anyone have any info about termites?  What can I do until Wednesday?

I know it's swarm season - but

HELP!

Avons  skin so soft orginal works to keep flys away  you can try that..it is also good for other uses...you would be surprised!!

That's DRYWOOD TERMITES! omgosh... you got tons of them coming out of their nest!  I called them "flying" termites.  They know what I'm talking about!  (speaking of second insect)  I'm not too sure about the first picture of incest. hmmmm... some kind of beetles.

The second pictures do look like termites.  Not sure about the first ones.  Not much you can do about the swarming, except to hose them.  You are doing the right thing tho in getting pest control out there, or those little guys will eat your house.

They look like flying ants to me. I get them in my backroom. They don't do damage but they are ucky. If you think they might be termites you can look for their mud tunnels. This is a tunnel that's about the size of your pinky that will run up the side of your house, porch, in your basement, etc. Termites can't survive without these tunnels. They are also easy to spot.

To be on the safe side I would get an exterminator out there but don't agree with everything they tell you that you will need. They will try to sell you the most high priced thing they can. Let them know you will be getting a couple of estimates.
