Cooper was 3 last month.  He says he wants to go to his sister's school but he seems resistent to potty training.  His sisters school will even potty train him for me, but he really has to want to go on the potty. He will go on the potty a few times during the day and then have a bunch of accidents.  I gave it a break while he was sick last week, but I tried again today.  He peed twice in his pants.  He won't even go if I ask him a million times if he has to pee.  I keep asking to remind him but he doesn't take the hint.  I put him back in a diaper today and told him he can't go to school, and of course he said he wanted to.  But I told him he has to decide to go on the potty.  I'm tired of changing his undies and pants.  I can't even remember what exactly I did with Kayla, my oldest, but she just decided to pee on the potty the month after her 3rd birthday.  Just wondering if there are any tricks or anything...thanks,

Kelly

The only I can suggest is that you tell him it's time to potty every 30 minutes instead of asking him if he has to go.  Keep an eye on him for that pre-pee squirm thing most kids do. Remind him that whatever it is he has to leave behind will be there when he gets back (and make sure it is).  Sorry that's all I've got.  Sounds like he's close, he may just need more time.  Good luck.

Cut out Cooper's name, insert "Gus" I thought he was fully trained by 2 1/2 but these past couple months, he's started having accidents more often. One word of advice a frend gave me- once the underwear comes out it's best to not go back to underwear, it makes the process take longer. She put her son in several thick (Hanna Anderson) pairs and tucked his pants into the socks. You know there are several potty training groups here on Cafemom, lots and lots of advise too.

I have the tricks you need to get him fully PT before he goes to school.  Please visit my journal post:
