Yup, that's what I have SUCKY neighbors! The ones that live in the duplex next to us have no sense of respect for others and their property. Every day it's something new. First of all, they don't have any boundaries where their dog is concerned. They let him run in my yard, chain him up in my yard and obviously they also let him poo in my yard! My response is to pick up the poo (with a shovel) and put it in their driveway (which borders our yard) but they don't seem to get the point that I don't want the dog in my yard. We've asked them nicely, we've TOLD them firmly and we've threatened to involve the cops in this however it's a continuing issue. The second issue is their drug use! Yes, drugs, I can smell pot coming from over there often and I have even SEEN the teenagers passing around a bong in the backyard before. Now this isn't happening in my yard, however the amount of smoke that travels into my yard is enough for me to feel lightheaded so I can only imagine what it's doing to my kids. I don't really care if they smoke the stuff, as long as they do it in their own house or car where it's not polluting the air that I and mainly my KIDS have to breathe. Third problem is their "playtime" habits. The teenagers like to toss a football around in the afternoons well into the night (like 10 or 11 pm) and as long as they are quiet I really don't care, however lately they think they can just play football in MY yard next to my kids swingset. How am I ever to feel comfortable bringing my kids out to play when a group of at least 5 teenage boys are playing in my yard??? Not only that, they smoke cigarettes while they play and I don't want cigarette butts in my yard, but I find them almost every time we go out to play! My final issue with them is their language with me. If I ever ask them to get out of my yard, ask them to keep their dog out of my yard, or request that they not chain up their dog in my yard I get assaulted with a slew of language not fit to type in CafeMom. I get called names, yelled at and everything to the point that I fear they will retaliate on my property if I continue to say something. It's not fair that I don't feel able to take my kids into my own yard without having them hear language I'd really not like them to repeat. I am literally at my wit's end!

I completely understand! I am going through basically the same thing with my neighbors...and the cops have been involved...three times in one day during last weekend.
damn, i didn't realize you didn't have a fence. call your city and see exactly where the property boundaries are and get a 7ft wooden privacy fence. hopefully you guys have some menly men to help put it up for cheap. put the poop under their tires so they have to run over it or better yet at their doorstep. lol good luck! keep me posted girl!
WOW Im so sorry you have such idiots as neighbors....I would so call the cops! I am also the same way as you though and feel that if you start yelling at people you never know what they will do :( It really sucks to not feel safe and comfortable in your own yard.
I would call the cops too! Are they renters? You could find out who the landlord is and call them too. Most people dont allow pets in rentals these days. God hope it gets better. I just had to call the cops and DHS on one of our neighbors for leaving her kids alone all day. I swear the parents are just as bad if not worse than the kids these days.
I hope it gets better soon.Let me know how it goes.
if you don't own the place, have you tried talking to who does? I'm sure you guys sign a lease in that sort of matter. Ask about a fence because of the problem.
And I WOULD call the cops if they started being that disrespectful. Even talk to them about what you can do about the situation.
I'm sorry that you have to put up with that. We used to live near a pool in our apartment in Texas. Never ever fun when it was warm! lol I've had my share of people being loud and rude, late at night/early morning. Also, people throwing their trash everywhere, like they were the only people living there. Yuuuck.
I hope the situation gets resolved.
I didn't see where you live..I am in Dallas and have been going through the same thing with the landlord renting to just anyone next door to me. This last batch is a doozy. Not only do they smoke pot in the backyard, tether the dog to a tree out back in which they have had cruelty to animals called on them, an unlicensed teenager hopped in his mama's car, backed out into the neighbor across the street who was already half way out in the street backing out...but momma tells the young girl whose car was hit that the boy had no licvense and was not on the insurance that she needed to lie about who was driving the car when the wreck happened or her new car wouldn't be fixed due to the boy not being licensed or insured. This person that is called a mama tried to come off as a wonderful person the dayt she moved in. My nightmare neighbor saga continues. If you are in the Dallas area feel free to contact me and I can tell you what the ordinances are..lol Good luck with your saga!!

OMFG! Do these kids have parents, or are the parents just as bad? I wasn't sure if it was the teens or the parents cursing at you...
As for the dog, can you call animal control? There are all sorts of rules they need to be following to have the dog staked outside, and if they break any of them they can get in trouble. And how are they getting away with staking the dog in your yard??
Can they get busted for littering the cigarette butts?
Do they own the duplex or rent? If they rent, complain to the land lord....
I hope things get better! Sucky neighbors suck...fortunately the worst we ever had were stoners who played their bongos all night long as neighbors, and the walls of our apartment were paper thin, so we heard EVERYTHING.
