Beauty contestant chooses 'biblically correct' over PC

The first runner-up for Miss USA tells Fox News Channel that she may have lost her chance at the crown because of her answer to a question about same-sex "marriage." However, she says she had to stand on biblical truth.

On Sunday, Miss California Carrie Prejean, 21, was asked by blogger Perez Hilton, an open homosexual and one of the pageant's judges, about her stance on same-sex marriage. Responding, Prejean said she personally believed marriage should be between a man and a woman.

Carrie Prejean (1st runner-up, Miss USA 2009)"We live in a land that you can choose same-sex marriage or opposite marriage. And you know what, in my country and in my family, I think that I believe that a marriage should be between a man and a woman," she said. "No offense to anybody out there, but that's how I was raised. I think that it should be between a man and a woman." (See YouTube video)

Although Miss North Carolina, Kristen Dalton, won the title, Prejean has made the rounds of television news and talk shows, addressing the controversy that her answer may have cost her the Miss USA crown. Prior to the interview segment of the pageant, Prejean reportedly was the hands-down favorite to win.

Appearing on Your World with Neal Cavuto on Tuesday, Prejean said she had "no regrets" about her answer.

Cavuto: "In this day and age, these kinds of views, we're told, are not politically correct -- [that] these are not the modern views."

Prejean: "Right -- and that's the thing I really need to think about: am I trying to be politically correct, or do I want to be biblically correct? And I think that I want to be biblically correct. All I could think about when I was standing there, answering that question was, 'Carrie, what are your beliefs?'"

The pageant contestant says she knew afterwards that she was not going to win because of her answer because she "had spoken from my heart, for my beliefs, and for my God..."

Prejean has shared that she is praying for Perez Hilton and has no animosity toward him -- despite his profanity-laced rant against her that he posted on his website following the pageant.

"I can only say to him that I will be praying for him," she told the Today show on Tuesday morning. "I feel sorry for him, I really do. I think he's angry, I think he's hurt. Everybody is entitled to their own opinion. He asked me specifically what my opinion was on that subject, and I gave him an honest answer."

Prejean, a native of San Diego, is a junior at San Diego Christian College.

In the Bible it says that our "last days" would be "just as they were in Noah's Day" - Have you really thought about what existed in Noah's Day?  The fallen angels were living right among mankind-Have you ever thought of what they really were like ?  The contestant had planned to say that Momas-She used a word no one could sue her over "opposite' (they just say she was stupid using this word-but they really know whe was extra smart) . Don't expect the world to be so perfect if you really believe these are the last days-the last days are supposed to be much more than what anyone imagines.Look at Germany before WW2-the Gay class was ruling with Hitler until he turned on them. Gays have much more power in America than that-In Germany Gays didn't announce they were gay and Gays never got legal rights like gays have here.  ////

Thanks for sharing. I was so busy that I did not even pay attention to this high profile show. I usually like to watch the pageants to see all of the new young talent out there, but I had no idea. I can only say from a Christian perspective that I am proud of her taking a stance for what the biblical truth has to say. The person hearing it on the other end may not have liked it, but she spoke of what she knew. I do not know either how as an American citizen she can not say what she believes in and then be penalized for it. If she lost the pageant because the person grading her did not like the comments based on their own beliefs is that even right? What if this same thing happened in our schools or our work places? I am proud of her choice and in my eyes she is a winner All the Way!

Ya know what there is nothing wrong with her standing up for what she believes but don't those who are gay have that right too. I understand what the bible says but everyone interpretsthe bible differently it also says in the bible that God wants us to love everyone as he does and to treat others as you wanna be treated. Also those who are gay is your family due to the fact we all descendfrom Adam and Eve. Also why should it matter what another person does in their life when in the end they will be judged by GOD not man. So I think people should just mind their own business and stop worrying about who lays with who or who marries who because its not your life it is theirs.

Oh by the way the original bible was written in another language and man is the one who rewrote the bible from what was suppose to be in the original one so how do you know that things where not added. For all we know is man could have added that into the bible due to the fact the bible also says to love everyone and to treat everyone the same so why would GOD contradict himself by looking down on those who are gay. By the way it has been proven that people are born that way due to the fact that men do not get enough testosterone and woman get too much.

My grandfather is a bigot too. He doesn't just want to deny gay Americans the rights that he shares, but if he had his way he would extend it to other races as well. I don't respect his "honesty" and I don't respect Miss Prejean's "honest opinion". Why? They're wrong. I don't think we need an anti-American Miss USA.

It is her opinion, I fail to see what all the uproar is about.  If we have come to the point that we cant have opinions, then we have much bigger problems than gay marriage.
