Becky has not had a pacifier (or ninny as she calls it). She has finally broken the habit!! It has taken me 2 years and a few months, but now she doesn't need that frigging thing to sleep. YAY!!!!
I have noticed over the last couple of weeks that she really wasn't wanting to have it at night but she **needed** it...kwim. Finally, last Thursday, I conviently **lost** her ninny during the day. I had been throwing them away whenever I saw them and she had 2 left. Anyways, bedtime rolls around and she didn't even ask for one. Just fell right asleep. Of course, I think being sick had a huge impact too.
She did ask for one the other night but I told her that she was a big girl and big girls don't use ninny's....only babies. She also got to pick out a stuffed animal (a pink cat with black and dark pink hearts on it) to sleep with. I told her that if she got upset and wanted her ninny, that she could just squeeze the kitty.
I am sooo happy. No more funny (and sometimes dirty) looks from people when I go out shopping because my almost 4 year old has that nasty thing hanging out of her mouth. Now, I am going to work on her going to sleep (and to bed) by herself and when that is done, nighttime potty training.
My other good news is that Zach has been sitting on the potty with his diaper on. Yesterday, he took his diaper off and sat down on the potty naked. Nothing happened but we (Becky and I) got very excited and cheered whenever he sat down =). I think I have an early potty trainer on my hands.
Yup, I am definately having a better week then last week!!
