I don't understand why when I am at a store people look at us weird because I take my three boys into the womens bathroom. Yes I said it my three boys go to the womens bathroom, if I am the only adult with them. Now if my husband is with us then he takes them to the mens bathroom. You do not know for sure that someone can not get your kids and do something to them real quick and tell them to yell out that they are going potty and they will be out in a minute. Then the person can have their way with your kid. They can threaten your kid not to say something then you won't know ever or you won't know until later. So yes if you see a mom in any store take her boys into the girls bathroom or a dad take his daughter into the boys bathroom don't stare or say anything. It is for the kids safety...
I live in Ga and here are somethings I fount from here and other places.
Woman raped in department store
Arrest Made In Bathroom Rape Case In
Death Penalty for Child Rape Is
These are not of real young kids but I know of a case a few years back where at a mall a little child was raped. I will not be a part of putting my kids at risk so please don't stare at my boys in the women's bathroom. They don't look under the stalls at you. They are not loud. They raise the toilet seat. They do flush.... and even wash their hands!!!
Comments:
My son goes to the bathroom with me, if we are out alone together, and my hubby cannot take him to the mens room. There are too many sickos out there, and while he'll go to the mens room when he's old enough on his own, that day is NOT today. As for those bitches who'd like to stare at us, or have a problem--you can kiss my ass. Id rather have you staring, than to have my baby getting raped or sodomized in the bathroom while he's trying to take a piss!
My son goes into the bathroom with me if I am the only one at the store with him. He is only 3 and I rather be there to protect him. If someone doesn't like it they can stuff it.
Thank Goodness they've started providing Family restrooms around here, so I don't have to deal with this. I've gotten looks too, with a 19 month old in a stroller, for goodness sakes. Am I supposed to park him outside by himself while I go relieve myself? Some people have too much free time to mind other peoples business.
I get the funny looks too - nobody says anything if it's my little babies, they're 14 mos and 2 weeks , so I HAVE to take them so I can do diaper duty... however, if I'm out and about with my oldest, you can imagine the looks I get from the women for taking a 6yr old into the women's rest room. We're still working on the whole "don't pee on the seat/make sure you flush/you HAVE to wash your hands" thing, so he needs supervision in the bathroom. That and at the Walmart that we go to has some creepy looking men that use their restrooms... I don't want my little boy in there alone with them.
My son is six and when we go to the store unless i dont have to go then i make him go into the womens with me and my two daughters. I totally agree with you, i see kids get lost in the store i work with all the time and to this day there has not been one that was taken by a stranger but thats not to say that it couldnt happen and I wont let it happen to me
I used to take my boys in the women's room, too. Now they are 9 & 11, and they use the men's room. I always tell them to go together, though.
I dont find nothing wrong with taking your kids in there after all they are kids. It's not like taking a girl in a boys bathroom and seeing men pee on the open KWIM? Thank goodness for the family restrooms like they have at walmart... too bad so many people use them when they dont have kids!!
I was standing in line at the Mall waiting my turn w/DS and one of ladies asked if he was coming in with me (he's 6) in to the bathroom? I said yes she said he was too big to go in with me. I asked if she came to the mall with her husband/boyfriend? She said yes so i said "i'll hold your place go get him and he can take my son to the bathroom" she looked at me like i was crazy and said " no" to which i promptly replied "if your are not offering help then MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS!" 3 ladies who were also in line laughed and one said" i do the same thing when i have my son , Little kid get attacked in public bathrooms now a days you can never be too careful!
The lady who initially said he should not come in left us alone after those comments. If she had called mall security i would have insisted they take him to the bathroom but fortunately it did not come down to that.

I always made my son go in with me...even if just to stand inside the door. It's the smart thing to do!
