Where did the weekend go? I want it back. I slept in too long this morning, so now I feel that the day is halfway vanished. I'm running late to fix breakfast. This means our normal afternoon dinner will be pushed back too. Then it will be night and time for bed so I can get up by 5:00 a.m. WAH! I am sure there are plenty out there that enjoy Sunday, but to me, it's always one day sooner for me to return to the work week. Not that I don't enjoy my job. I do. Monday is our day that we get our workload from over the weekend and since we were off to a seminar last Monday and Tuesday, I'm still trying to play catchup.
Oh, well, guess there can be worse things. I also noted that we are upon the last week of April. Wow.Time is certainly flying, isn't it? May will be an absolutely busy month for me indeed. Personally, I have two birthday parties to attend, for my youngest grandson and a friend of the family; two anniversaries to note, my 2nd daughter, Tracy, and her hubby,Chris, plus my own 3rd with my hubby Bruce. We plan a trip to San Antonio for a two day getaway to visit the Alamo and the Riverwalk area. Should be fun.
Next weekend, we will be going to Lousianna to have a little gambling fun. Tracy and her friend Olga will be coming along. This should be fun. Tracy plans to hit the 21 table as the last time she went, she did really well. Instead of the regular slot machines, I want to try my luck on the Poker game on one of the machines. I've seen people play them, but didn't understand how to do it myself, not being an avid poker player. I stumbled upon this website that allows you to play on many types of slot games for absolutely free. There's no catch. you simply build up credits. There is one drawing a month and you apply the credits you win daily, for a chance to win $250 or $500. You just submit your email address because that's how you log in your points. I like this site, because it gives me a chance to play these games without losing any money at all. Over and over again for as long as I want. So I have learned to play the poker game and now feel comfortable at it. If you want to try this website, it is called: http://www.freeslots.com/. There is another website with a similar name, without the S on the end of slot, but don't go to that as it's a money site.

Also coming up in May, there's Mother's Day. I already told my hubby that, although thoughtful, I didn't want a bouquet of freshcut flowers or those large hellium balloons or cards this year. I wanted somethng different. Something that would last or be for me personally. Of course I know I'll have to give him hints about what this could be, but it doesn't have to be expensive. If all the kids pitched in and cleaned the entire house and did laundry, that would be awesome. If all pitched in to cook all the meals that weekend, that would be great. I'd settle for a gift of windchimes or plants to decorate my porch or flower garden. If all I could do was sit in the sun in the lounge chair and read a book, to not worry about a thing all weekend, it would feel fantastic. And I'd hope with all the things they'd do for that one weekend, they'd realize just how much I do for them every single day.
We did visit my parents yesterday for quite a long afternoon. At one point, we bought pizza. My step-dad is like a child at times and you have to serve him. My hubby took care of that. Within a few moments of getting my dad a drink, a fork, a different type of pizza since he thought the pepperoni was too spicy, my hubby had a thought. He looked at me and said, "now I know how you feel when you make breakfast for me every weekend and bring me the plate." And I reminded him that I do that "all the time", a habit I did when we first met to be a loving wife that now has grown into this action that I don't even think about anymore. At last, acknowledgement. It felt good. Perhaps he'll do this more often, to serve me, not that he doesn't do his fair share to make me happy with other things about the house.
Anyways, I'd love to hear about what you'd like for Mother's Day, whether it be a change in routine or a treat at a favorite resteraunt. What are your traditions? And do you have upcoming events/trips in your near future?
