reusable grocery bags! 99 cents each and so worth it.
download ERIN MCCARLEY!!! so good. and she's on VH1's Top 20 videos right now.
We have already switched to the CFL light bulbs. I have started to recycle and pay more attention to what can be recycled, and will do even more recycling! I have bought a few of the green products, and I really like them. We have the filtered water pitcher. I have already been downloading my music to my IPOD too!!! Keep the tips coming!!! :)
I recycle already, and have bought an energy efficent washer and dryer as well as an energy efficent laptop. More for my photography business than my Cafemom addiction. LOL Due to my fourth son's asthma and allergies, we switched to eco friendly, organic cleaners and hygeine products about 3 years ago. (He will be 4 in September). Also, instead of buying bottled water all the time, I have switched to the PUR water pitcher and filter.
I've never been a big fan of using paper towels or napkins, so a bit of my advice would be to use cloth instead so that you can use them over and over again. :)
I use CFL lightbulbs, and have even bought eco-friendly gas. There is eco friendly gasoline you can buy even if your vehicle isn't a flex fuel vehicle. Bio-fuel is for flex fuel cars, Bio-ethanol is for any type of make, model, or year of car. Just go to a bio station and ask. They are very informative and oddly enough, our gas mileage got way better on the bio-ethanol than the regular gasoline we were buying so in the long run, we saved money.
Oh yeah, and if you can put up with the extra laundry mom, switch to cloth diapers. I did when my 4th son was a baby and toddler and I can't even tell you how much money we saved, not to mention how much we helped the earth!
Oh yeah and about the reusable grocery bags which we also do, some grocery stores will credit your grocery bill for each cloth/bag you bring in and use. Our grocery store gives us 6 cents per bag as a credit on our grocery bill. With a family of 6, we use lots of bags! :)
I'm trying to become more green no matter how small the change is --- it's still a change, and it's adding up.![]()

What CafeMom addiction?! I'm not addicted! I have NO idea what you are talking about! LOL! My green change will be to recycle more. Since we have a home business we go through a lot of paper. I would like to have a system to recycle our office paper. One thing I want to do is cut up the recycled paper to use as scratch pads in the office. The trick will be to get my DH to go along with it!!! He's really set in his ways! :) Love you Emjay!!!!!!
