Grew up on the farm

I can milk a cow, slop the hogs, gather eggs, grow a garden.  We slaughtered beef and hogs every fall and throughout the winter months, we ate what we had grown in the garden in the summer and canned or frozen.  More people should be so lucky.  I am teaching my children now how to garden.  The first year, my now 14 year old wanted to weed the corn with his weed eater!!  He still has a lot to learn!!

I still have not figured out the almanac, though.  I have to call my oldest sister to tell me what to plant something.  I think they need college degrees for those things.
