I lost my Mom Oct. 7, 2003. I miss her every day. She was my best friend. We talked every day.
It is so true, the saying, "You don't appreciate something until you've lost it." I tried to appreciate my Mom every day. But, sometimes I was a rotten "kid" and I forgot how soon they can be gone. Now my daughter is in that position. She worries over me like I was OLD or something. She lives 6 hours away and I worry about her all the time. She is my best friend now. It's funny how we do become our parents. It's inevitable.
If you still have your mom, hug her til it hurts. Call her every day. Send her flowers and cards for no reason. Tell her you love her as many times as she can stand it. Because one day, you won't be able to.
Happy Mother's Day to each of you.
