Life & Times in Texas

I have to give thanks where thanks is due.

Have you ever prayed and knew your prayers were answered?  As always sometimes they are not answered in what "we actually prayed for", but your prayers were answered.

I am so glad in a way that April is now behind us.  I've only had about 4 hours sleep so I am exhausted and exhilerated and too tired to think past today.  I cannot believe everything that is coming our way.  But as I have always believed, even if you want something, you still have to work for it.  The man upstairs may be helping you but you still have to do the dirty work to get it.  I won't say what my prayers were for ~ ( although I am still waiting on that decent young man to come along and sweep my daughter off her feet).  In God's time I suppose.

But as of last night I am still totally amazed.  I didn't get in bed until close to 1:00 am.  If you read my posts you will note that I sell something.  Well, yesterday was the last day of the month to enter orders for Mothers Day shipments and commission.  I had a late party @ 7:30 and even though I don't do many of these I was somewhat both excited and dreading it.  I knew I would be late in coming home and yet the young girl giving this party was more excited than I've ever seen in someone and it is always great to be around that kind of excitement.  So, the short version:  I finally left at 10:20 to hurry home which was thankfully only about 20 minutes away.  But, the reason was more exhilerating than ever.  I had two hours to get home and input my "Largest party ever!"  We did $1093.00 in orders in one night!  This was my first $1000.00 party, here on the last day of the month and down to the wire to get home and enter 20 orders.  OMG!

To top it off when I got in my truck I checked my phone and my husband had left me a message just 5 minutes before.  I figured he was checking on me, but then again he is usually in bed by 9:00.  So finding a message from him at 10:15 at night was a little unusual.

I called back, not sure if had just went on to bed and yet he answered the phone.  Yes, he was checking on me, but then again he wanted to let me know that the lady we dealt with a couple weeks ago called him back last night.

You see, besides me having this great business we also buy & sell storage buildings.  Although we were ready to give this up a few weeks ago because it takes up so much time.  We already have a booth at a local flea market that we have been selling out of for about 6 months and it is almost every weekend that we are up there.  We take off here and there and/or I may have other places to go and the last time we went to an auction there were way too many people and the bids were outrageous to go up against.  We just couldn't make any money.  So, as we deceided to sell off what we had and just concentrate on my business which is also doing leaps and bounds right now we received a phone call from an acquaintance that we did some business for a year ago.  She owns her own storage buildings but is too small to do the auctions and is just plain tired of having to clean them out.   We took care of some units for her last year pretty much of a swap.  We cleaned out the buildings, and she could re-rent them.

So, two weeks ago she called and had 7 she needed to get cleaned out.  It took us a week but we managed to get all of them.  We still have not had time to go through all of them as of yet because of all the other work we do and it is a bit timely to get rid of all the trash and take it all down to the things you can re-sale but we found one unit may actually pay off "BIG TIME".  Not so sure how big yet but Bigger than we have ever came across.  One of those units was an "NFL Player" in one of the major leagues some years ago.  He is passed away and we have things like, signed footballs, memoriablia, boxes of sports cards,  tons of stuff.... I have only been able to research a tiny bit of this.

Well our lady friend called my husband back and now to shorten the story, she has fired her manager from her other storage building place that is in another small country city and she needs us ASAP to clean out " 20 " units..............................

Twenty.   I did say Twenty.  Even though we have a large shop, it is in no way large enough to hold 20 units.  We have to go out there tomorrow and get an assesment .  We won't turn them down.  How do you turn down a gift that is placed in your lap!!!!

I still have jewelry to get appraised, coins to get appraised and certified so I can get as much as possible out these 1899 to 1940 half dollars and quarters that we found.   Sports cards dating back to the 70's.  Tons of stuff.

I just need to quit my full time job!

So, thank you lord.  I believe my prayers are being answered on a scale of "AWESOME".  Totally awesome by leaps and bounds.

My motto for 2 years now has been :  HAVE FAITH  & BELIEVE.   These two plagues hang over my desk.  When  I made Director last month, the necklace I was  presented with by my Director - says " BELIEVE".  I joined a group called:  ACHIEVE & BELIEVE.  These 2 words FAITH & BELIEVE keep popping up.
The Lord works in mysterious ways, so don't discount when something is laying at your door!  Even if it looks like a mountain and overwhelming.  Just look up and say:

THANK YOU!

I do not know yet how we are going to deal with all of it, but we will.

I have FAITH!

We have actually had to deal with so much "unbelievable" crap over the past 5 years, I asked for a reprieve!

" Never question why, only give Thanks"!    ( By me).
