So this morning mom and I went and picked up my sister to head for a yard sale we saw advertised last week. 9 families! Talk about hitting the mother load of yard sales! We drove to the location and it was in the country ( I mean even more in the country then I am lol) But it was beautiful. We passed one farm that the cattle had actually walked a complete circle out. It was so funny looked like they had made their own little walking track lol. So we get to the sale and it was in a barn. They really had the plan they had each stall labelled with the items it contained, like bedding, kitchen, boys, girls, dishes, what nots, electronics plus the entire hallway was filled with tables and stuff hanging on the walls. Then they had even more up at the house. Well I saw this picture that just absolutely took my breath. It is kind of a cross between Native American artwork and Spiritual. It has the Native American themes of their beliefs about nature, a horse rearing up with an indian rider, under the horse is the coming out of a tigers claw in teh "dust" from teh horses hooves. The rider is reacing above his head to grab on to the foot of the cross where Jesus is hanging and in the right corner is the Virgin Mary and in the upper left is angels flying upwards. It is absolutely gorgeous so my sister bought it for me. 5.00!!
Is that not absolutely gorgeous???
So up at the other part of the yard sale they had decorative glass bottles. they of course were once whiskey bottles but I love collecting them cause they are so pretty when cleaned up.. I got 3 of them for 2.50!! She had 2 a piece on them and my sister the master yard sale queen that she is talked the woman waaaay down ..I brought them home and cleaned them up and filled them with colored wte and put them in my kitchen window..

The flash kept glaring back so I put them on the counter to get the picture..
Then we went back to my sister's house and someone had dropped off a cat that was so loving. But she kind of kept running into things. Well I got down there with her and picked her up and she likes snuggling in your neck. Well I noticed she is blind in her right eye. Someone got rid of this wonderfully loving adn beautiful cat simply because she ws blind!! I was furious soooo we got a stowaway lol. Mys siter has a cat who is not keen on strange animals sooo I became her new home, Just call me Ellie Mae rofl.. What was funny was on the way home I had to hold her in my lap. Mom had bought some bugles ( the chips) and put one in my mouth since my hands were rather full. The cat ate the bugle right out of my mouth. So I got another one and she ate it like a person would, taking little nibbles off of it till it was gone. Mom tried to feed her one and she snubbed her nose at mom. My sister said she was meant to be mine lol. She was so good in the car and fell back in my arms like a baby and slept. I got her home and bathed her and thought oh here we go cause you know cats and water. NOt a bit of trouble she sat right there and let me wet her down and wash her good and clean her ears, not a mew, not a hiss, not a scratch nothing. Then I rinsed her and wrapped her in a towel and she just snuggled in and went to sleep lol.. this is our new addition:

She was not real keen on having her eyes open for the pic. She reminds me of those LOL cats in this rofl.. but she is ROTTEN already ...
Comments:
That picture is gorgeous!!! Great finds and I can not believe the prices. Your new edition is very beautiful..she reminds me of our old cat Tom.
Too bad you can not come down here tomorrow...they are having a 100 table yard sale down here. They are trying to go for the countries largest yard sale or something to that effect. The proceeds are going to Father who lost his wife/child during the Samson tradgedy. Lilly's school is having their own table so their proceeds are going to a new playground...they are going to that rubber matting stuff, lots of new toys, fountain, and even fans that mist!! So we were asked to donate this week for the project.
You should think about selling those dishes on Ebay. I am telling you...there is a market for them. I have never bidded on anything and not have someone trying to out bid me. I just stumbled across that pattern and fell in love with it..does your mom have any of that type of print? The aqua butter print? Would she be willing to sell? I am addicted to them and my collection is small right now.
I may venture out tomorrow...depends on our budget. There's still a few things I would like to find for Emma, new shoes for Doots, and now she needs a blue dress or shirt for graduation this month.
Oh this is so cool, loved your new bottles and especially love your new kitty! I had a blind dog and I can tell you that he was the sweetest thing on earth! Be sure to keep me up on how things are going with your tuxedo kitty! Waiting to hear what you name her, Helen? LOL just joking, but not really a bad name.
Wow....I loved the pic (SO YOU), and then the glass bottles made me envious..
