I have decided not to attend my high school reunion in June. I would have to fly to Texas to attend. I don't think this swine flu is going to amount to much, but you never know what the future holds. My biggest fear is traveling somewhere and then getting stuck. If I can't travel back home, then I have to worry about a disabled husband, a young son, and all of my pets (1 dog, 4 cats, 2 ferrets, 4 rats, 1 mouse). I can't risk leaving them there by themselves for more than a few days.
I still plan to go to Texas in October for my other high school reunion. I went to one high school [Lee] for 10th & 11th grades (sames kids 2nd thru 11th grades), but transferred to another for 12th grade [MacArthur] to study computers (1968-69). I can still meet this bunch in October. One of the guys in my Trigonometry class now has a big restaurant in downtown San Antonio, so classmates meet there regularly. I am anxious to see how much my hometown has changed. Last time I was in Texas was April 1998, but I only saw the airport. My mom was living in Mason where my grandparents used to live. I left town when I was 21 to go to Army basic training. I have only been back to visit since then. My mom moved to Mason in 1988 when she retired. She is now in a senior living apartment about a block from my sister in Ft. Worth, soon to be 93 and starting to slow down. She misses her 3 acre garden, but is glad she doesn't have to worry about home maintenance anymore. She is most upset about losing her vision. She still has excellent hearing, unlike all her cousins and friends, but has lost most of the vision in her right eye. She can only read about 2 hrs a day. I have started reading more lately. I don't want to wait till I'm older, then lose my vision. I used to read mostly sci-fi, but now I read a lot of mysteries and detective/forensic books. I like to read Shakespeare, as always, and history books, too.

I can't really answer the home town poll because I'm back in my home town where I went to school from k-6 grades. Then we moved around a lot. I graduated from Ann Arbor. I moved around after that so I lost touch with most of the people I hang out with in high school.
I think you will be better off waiting until October to go home. See everyone you want to at once.
