Another Pointless Journal

Life is short. Make fun of it.

Yesterday my son went to a b-day party and the kids were playing with a power wheels lawn tractor. Well they were having a good old time, playing and goofing around. Then my son had his turn.

One of his friends ran in front of him and my son was chasing him on the lawn tractor. Well the poor boy wasn't fast enough and my son plowed him over with the power wheels! All we saw was feet kicking from underneath the back of the toy tractor and screaming. So the boy's mom and I go running out there and I tell my son to hold on so I could get him off and he hit the "gas" and the wheels starts spinning again. I mean he was going no where with his little friend under the tractor, but still... it made the poor kid underneath scream more! I felt so horrible!

So we get the little boy out and he was ok. Just scared I think. But he stopped crying and asked if it was HIS turn to ride on the tractor! LOL I guess little boys are far more resilient than I thought :) And I asked my son why he ran his friend over and he said " Because he was in the way!" :)

Anyways.. my son felt bad about it. On the way home he was like. "Mommy I didn't mean to hurt my friend. We were just playing and I didn't mean to hurt him." Awwww :( So i told him it was ok but to be more careful next time... but he kept saying how sorry he was to me.. :(

i was once at a conference about raising boys and the man sais boys don't actually have friends before they are 12, they have intruders. and that is why boys push so much. if you ask them they say exactly what your son said, he was in the way, not i'm angry! they don't connect anger with action.

No... they seriously we laughing and playing with eachother throughout the whole thing. The little boy was running away from TJ and laughing and TJ was chasing him on the power wheels laughing. And then.. he ran him over.  These two boys are good friends and they stick up for eachother when one is being bullied by someone else.

I don't agree with the guy at that conference you were at. They were not angry with one another, they were playing and an accident happened. And I do not think boys don't have friends until age 12.. that is ridiculous.
