So in the quest to keep our kiddos free of wetness, diaper rash, and everything else that comes along with defacation and elimination I have decided to explore this world of cloth diapers.
Cloth diapers, in the past, came to me in a
neatly folded and tucked towering cake of cloth- with fat ducky pins fastening them together. As cute as they were, they were bulky and I never quite got the hang of them- soon reaching for the powder fresh smelling diapers in the baby aisle at the local grocery store.
The cloth diapers out today are a far cry from those thick cotton sheets of folded tricks and pricks. They come with velcro sealed outter layers and have all sorts of neat contraptions that allow the fast and easy discard of waste while not adding to the landfill problems. You are also eliminating the harsh chemicles and perfumes added to conventional diapers which can create the diaper rash issues we all know so well of.
If you are interested in finding out more about the new era of cloth diapers or have questions, this is a great resource.
This website also offers both new and gently used cloth diapers for purchase, as well as a bunch of other nifty natural products for mom and baby.
Given the fact I still have kids in diapers at night and Im looking to be using diapers again with the up and coming birth of my 6th, Im considering purchasing some larger sizes for use instead of buying the as we have. It may pay off!
