Terpsichore's Potty Moment!!!!

Oh my gosh I am so proud right now. My little Terpsichore (not so little anymore) just pooped for the first time in her potty.

I have avoided "forcing" potty training, and like everything else that I have done with her allowed it to be child lead  (like eating solids, weaning, crawling, talking, walking, now using the potty), with this I have found that I am having "above average" results with her because I am not "expecting" anything hence she can't "let me down" or become frustrated because she doesn't understand. So, with all that being said, she asked to use the potty for the first time about 9 months ago, I bought her a potty and put her on it while I was using the "big girl potty". She used it, was really excited but then let it go forever!! I thought she was never going to do it. She knows what the urge is and every night during her "nakey baby" time if she has to go she just asks for a diaper to be put on, sometimes she wouldn't make it in time, but 99% of the time she would. So I thought she was doing good because she knew the urge and would tell me when she peed and pooed in her diaper and when she needed too when she was naked.

Anyway...about 2 months ago she started saying she needed to pee, and she ran in to the bathroom, threw open the lid of her potty and peed. I was soooooooo HAPPY, I thought wow, she is really doing it on her own, but she would never poo. Then last week (when it was 95 degrees and she was in the pool) she told Papa that she had to pee, and she came inside and used the potty instead of just peeing in the pool...I was exstatic!!! But she would never poo...she pees about 6 times a day and really only pees in her diaper when she is taking her nap or overnight.

Then tonight during her nakey baby time she was playing with her art easel and drawing me a picture and she tooted and looked up at me and said.....I need to poop, she charged into the bathroom and POOPED in her potty....I am just so happy....she was thrilled shreaking at the top of her lungs...MOMMY I POOPED IN MY BIG GIRL POTTY!!! I was like I know....I know, and I am soooooo proud of you. We took pictures and everything, she modled for me pointing to her poo...it was great!! I am just so proud of her!!!

Just thought I would share my proud parent moment!! I love her to death...my little angel!

Congrats!  That is an exciting moment.  Did you ever think you could be so excited about poop??  :D

Nope...never thought I could get that excited about bodily excreetions, but then there was the first pee, poo, and then the ones the potty and who knows from there!!!

That's lovely, but isn't it funny how we can get so excited over something so ... umm...  icky.  :P   Really I totally get how happy you were, but it's also hilarious how pooping can be so exciting!  *sigh* motherhood!  ♥
