I have been a mom for half of my life. It has been the greatest joy I could ever hope for. My children mean everything to me. I have been through the ups and downs of child rearing, countless trips to school meetings, parent teacher conferences, trips to the ER with my heart in my throat and tears running down my face because one of my babies was hurting and I couldn't help. I've attended football games and basketball games and screamed in the stands jumping up and down because "THAT'S MY BOY!!!" down there making that touchdown or basket, awards ceremonies where my kids received honor roll awards, athletic awards and UIL awards. I have nursed illnesses with love and chicken soup, I have bandaged owies because "Mommy doesn't hurt like the doctor does". I have proudly displayed primitive drawings from my 2 year old because it's beautiful and every Mother's Day card, Christmas card they have made through the years. I have attended Mother's Day tea at school where I sit in a class full of 3rd graders and my sons/daughters in their turn grinned proudly because their Mom was able to come. I have been privileged to watch all of my kids first steps, first tooth, heard their first words. Now I am getting ready to start sending them across the graduation stage and sending them out into the world. I do it all because they will look at me from time to time and say "I LOVE YOU MOM! and it sounds just as good coming out of an 18 year old as it does a 2 year old. I Love you are the sweetest words any mom could ever hear!
