There aren't nearly enough posts on CafeMom right now about gay issues. Just kidding! Actually I'm sick to death of people debating gay marriage and whether or not people choose to be homosexual. I would much rather read about ways to build moms up and how to raise good kids. When I was a member of CafeMom almost two years ago, the issue was constantly pagans versus christians. That got really old, too. When I come to CafeMom I'm looking for some creative, funny stuff that will brighten my day. Of course everyone on CM doesn't agree. Diversity is good. Diversity is interesting. The same debate over and over without any new points is dull.
Comments:
I know it can get old and seems to get no where. It's a battle that effects peoples rights. It is necessary right now to be proactive. I know if you are not directly affected it is not that big of a deal. But there are many Moms on here that are Lesbian or Moms like me that have a child who is Gay. This is a place for fun but also a place to get the message out of what all the families like ours are going through. If Americans remain in the dark with what is going on then All of us have lost not just the homosexual community. Remember the phrase slippery slope. If we sit back and allow this to happen then who is next, what group is next.
I do joke and have fun on cafemom but with that particular area of course I take it very seriously. I understand where you are coming from if you don't have a loved one involved. Like MemawBrie had and awesome journal post yesturday, awesome.
I'm just thankful the ELECTION is over...
I was about to leave CM, I was so sick of the right-wing vs. left-wing WAR.
Hang in there, dear,
This too shall pass.
LOL kimberlee that lil critter as your avatar looks like its up to something...LOL
Yep, like kimberleee said. I've found way more positive, supportive, funny, thought provoking journals on here than not. Some topics just seem to be a bit more heated than others, but overall, and for the most part, it doesn't leave many of us enemies. As a matter of fact, I've actually forged good, solid friendships from journal posts where we almost vehemently disagreed with one another. Plus, it's very difficult to convey tone and emotion on the Internet. Just try not to take things personal and develop the attitude that they're only opinions and we're all entitled to them ;-)
I love you...full cirlce, Love.
