I have 5 kids and I have never been told that. My ped. recommended Karo Syrup to me years ago and I still use it for constipation. I don't know if this is the problem your daughter is having, but they also have liquid suppositories for kids that are safe and easy to use. Did you ask the DR if their where any other options that are more natural? Don't let the DR intimidate you and keep you from asking questions. It's your baby and you have the right to know all your options!!

My dr told me Maalox when dd was stopped up, but try Karo syrup first. ge the clear Karo, add it to regular milk/formula, and stir in some strawberry or chocolate powder mix. Then let em guzzle it. Their little poopers will be clear in no time flat!!!!

Oh trust me i did ask questions.. i always do!.. I have never been told karo or maalox... hmm..

she is on med for stool softening because she has something called anal stenosis.. her colon has stretched out so much in a little spot that it just doesnt work and thats why she gets backed up. its very frustrating because we've been trying to fix the problem for years. she is now three!
