my daughter asked me 'the' question, when i was pregnant with her now 10 month old brother. i explained as best i could, i read her a book that i thought explained it very well. it was very detailed. our friend has recently announced that she is 13 weeks pregnant with her second child.we had picked them up to go to the mall to get some maternity clothes for Landra. her son is 4, and he wanted to know how his mommy got a baby in her tummy. so Jamie, my 4 year old took it upon herself to tell him. i thought this was adorable, and i was just in awe of the innocene and beauty of their little brains at work.

Evan- my mommy has a baby in her tummy. mommy says daddy helped her put it there.

Jamie-a baby starts out like a seed. the daddy gets the seed first, then he asks the mommy to keep it, cause the seed needs to grow and mommies are softer and they have a special place in their tummy to grow the baby

Evan- so how does the mommy get the seed in her tummy?

J- i dunno. maybe she eats it. then she has to drink lots and lots of water to grow the seed, and it grows into a baby.

E- where does the daddy get the seed? how come she only gets  1 baby, there are lots of seeds in a pack?

we walk past the flower shop and Jamie asks if we can go in. the 2 then proceed to look for a packet of baby seeds.  they go up to the counter and Jamie asks the florist how many baby seeds come in a pack. he just laughed. Jamie pouts and says 'this isn't a good store mommy, they don't even have baby seeds'. i couldn't help but laugh. and now i know why she calls her brother flower boy.
