MommyTurtle1985's Journal

Just General thoughts.

Went to my son's daycare today. They were having a mother's day party and go figure the only parents that show up are me and my husband and my 2 yeard old.(#1 thing i noticed) So yeah......the kids are sitting down to eat "lunch" i guess. Well The teacher comes over to say hi and starts offering us food and drink. My son runs over and is showing me his name tag and his little desk and some girl named Isabella. Apparently this girl sits next to Andrew (my son) everyday at their litte desk table thing. Isabella had her hands all over my son like hugging and just stuff like that. Why wasn't i told about that? I don't want some girl groping my son like that i dont care if she's 4. The teacher says " Hey don't do that he dosent want you grabbing him and hugging him, keep your hands to your self" This tells me that this is an on going problem with this little girl and apparently with only my son. OK...............Why are they sitting next to each other then? I don't approve of that. I just think its common sense too............Is it me being a mommy? Also i cant help but feel like Im covered in germs the minuet i walk in there. UHHHHH......makes me want to take a shower. I know its just me cause i keep sending my son there. Well this was just one journal bout the daycare.......im sure there are lots more coming. My husband said that I'm never gonna be satisfied with ANY daycare because im just looking for things to be wrong. Well maybe and maybe not. this is the only daycare i can afford right now............they're not bad....its just me. OK this is me venting.

I wouldn't worry so much about the kids and germs from hugging one another.  They exchange more germs by playing with the same toys - even being in the rooms together all day.  There's nothing wrong with 4 year olds hugging one another.  I was always happy to see that the kids were so happy to see each other and be with each other rather than having a screaming kid hanging off of my leg as I was trying to get out the door to get to work.  I saw it as a sign of being a well adjusted piece of the puzzle at the daycare.  My DD is begging to go back to "school" since I've stopped working.  Why?  She misses her friends and teachers and she loves "school".  She's been sick less than the average child over the past 2 years thanks to the exposure to the "germs" at the daycare.  (The headlice ordeal was far less welcome than a runny nose!)
