my tiny little thoughts

or something like that

i have WIC, and it seems like we are overloaded with 2% milk and cheese all the time. so i dug out this recipe, forgetting how much i LOVE this bread, so that i could use up some of the milk that is just going to waste in the fridge. plus, the ingredients are those that most would already have on hand- and those are my favorite kind of recipes! and yes, i did get up and start making this at 6:30 am today! i think i might make some garlic butter later for this bread, too... yes, that would make it perfect... i can't remember exactly where i got this recipe, so i apologize for not giving credit to whomever it is due.

Savory Cheddar Bread

2 C all-purpose flour
4 tsp baking powder
1 T sugar
1/2 tsp onion salt
1/2 tsp dried oregano
1/4 tsp ground mustard
1-1/4 C shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1 egg, well beaten
1 C milk
1 T butter, melted

Combine flour, baking powder, sugar, onion salt, oregano, ground mustard, and cheese in a bowl; set aside. Combine egg, milk and butter; add all at once to dry ingredients, stirring just until moistened. Spread batter in a greased 8-1/2" x 4-1/2" loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.

Easy peasy! Enjoy!
