This is sort of like counting my blessings......... (what do I mean "sort of" - it is - it is!)
I am so very grateful for what I've learned in 61 years. I try to learn even more every day.
1. We are powerful, each in our own way. We are capable of being who we want to be and doing what we want to do. If it's truly important, we will find the way. We are limited only by our inspiration and motivation (which is inside each of us).
2. When we look in the mirror, we are able to perceive whatever we choose to see.

3. It's okay to feel sad, angry, upset, unhappy on occasion. It's okay to cry sometimes. We each have a variety of emotions and feelings. Those feelings will fluctuate, depending on our exterior influences and circumstances. And, sometimes we have the ability to control our feelings, simply by the way we perceive something and in our attitude toward it.
It's easy to feel and enjoy the happiness, joy and contentment of our lives, but it seems to be difficult to just go with the unpleasant feelings. When we just simply go with the flow, the unpleasant feelings will pass much quicker and lead us back to the comforting feelings of reality.
(REMEMBER: What we resist, will persist)
4. Chocolate is really good stuff, especially when savored in small bites, chewed slowly. Just as is the really good stuff of life. (Whatever you're doing, do it in the NOW present moment and be fully aware and mindful as it's happening.)
5. Children are true blessings, but grandchildren are even greater blessings - precious gifts our children give us.
6. Love is not the butterflies in the tummy stuff. Real love is appreciating someone for exactly who they are. True love is accepting someone unconditionally, including their faults (we all have those).
7. Cafe Mom is addicting. This is one addiction I'm happy to have.
8. There are no rules that say we must sleep at a certain time, or eat at a certain time, or do anything - except by our own schedule. Whatever is best for you, is what is best. Just take care of yourself.
9. Sun exposure is dangerous. If you must be out in the sun, sunscreen, clothing and hats will help keep you protected. But, even with taking precautions, sometimes it cannot be prevented. Did you know there is free screening (testing) available. And, early detection can help save lives. Skin cancer is risky business, if left undetected.
10. Talking on cell phones (or even worse, texting) while driving can be destructive to yourself and to others. Our vehicles are huge weapons, if we aren't 100% mindful while we're behind the wheel. Even if you are a good driver, you still must be aware of the other idiots on the road.
I think I could continue this forever, as I've been blessed to learn many lessons in 61 years. (This will be continued)
P.S. I think #2 is my favorite. Yeah, go back and read it again.
Comments:
I have learned in my 53 years to be a pretty good judge of character, to know if someone is putting on airs, or is down to earth and real.
You my friend, are the "real" thing!
I loved reading your blessings, and I thank you for being you...I feel so grateful to call you my friend. I love you.
