Would you be upset (reposted with a poll)

 So I took my son to his kindergarden orientation and I left there almost in tears!!!   I HATED IT!  I hated the school, the way they handeled the whole orientation.  Spent 2 1/2 hours there are I still dont know where the kindergarden classrooms are!  I thought that Orientation was for that the parents and kids could see the school meet the teachers and prinipal, see the classrooms, ect! .  The only thing I saw was the cafeteria! I mean here we are in a new school, twice as big as his VPK school.  He was nervous and you could see it in his face!   About an hour into it the teachers were introduced (only introducing there name.. none of the treachers said a word) as a whole the kids were seperated up and sent with each of the teachers!  I didn't know this teacher, Jadon had no idea who this was what was going on his little face looked terrified when he was told he had to go with her.   Its NOT even going to be his teacher next year... we wont find that out till a week before school!  For the next 45 minutes I kept looking around for him, to see if I could see the teachers coming back with the kids.  All I knew was he was in the classroom and at this point I still DIDNT even know where the classrooms were!  My son is ADHD and has ashma....   I hated not know where he was and who he was with I hated the way they handled it!  I just think they could  have handled the whole thing!     I dont want to be an overprotective parent but they could of let us know what they were doing so I could prepare my son for what was going to happen today!  I just think they could have dones things a little better!

Prehaps it was just telling you about the school. It may have been to tell you what to expext and what is expected of you.They may not know  teachers that the chilren have yet. I went to an oreintation  for my dd middle school tonight. We did not see the classrooms. Sometimes with the kindergarteners they have a meet and greet  right before school starts. It does seem a little strange . I am sure if you wanted to you can see the classroom

I wasn't as upset about not going to the classroom as much as I was that they took the kids!  I mean my son didn't even know this teacher NEVER talked to her!  The look on his face he was terrified!  He was upset the rest of the day and didnt want me to leave him.  My sons not like this usually,  he is usually one of those kids that says bye mom and runs the other direction!  I mean it was his first time ever stepping foot in the doors of the school and had never meet any of the faculty!  I just dont think they should have pulled the kids away that way!!! and maybe Im over reacting but the look on his face said it all to me!
