MANY people ask what are the carseats so heres my BEST list with pics
Infant seats
Safety First OnBoard 35-goes from 4-35lbs andvery deep so very high height limits(great for preemies)
Graco safeseat-goes to 30lbs and 32 inches

Chicco Keyfit 30-goes to 30lbs and 30 inches...GREAT for preemies because its minimum is 4 lbs not 5lbs like others

Convertible seats
These sometimes can be used from birth, notice I am recommending the ones that RF and harness to the longest heights...
Compass(First years) Truefit-Rfs to 35lbs and 50 inches, harnesses to 65lbs(works for newborns),

and my son it it Rfing at 22 months 24 lbs and 36 inches

RFing at 3 years old, 30lbs and 42 inches

(First years/Lamaze)Truefit Premier with anti rebound bar-Rfs to 35lbs and 50 inches and FFs to 65lbs(works for newborns)
MY newborn son in his TFP

here it is installed without headrest

Britax Marathon 70/Blvd 70-rfs to 40lbs and 48 inches, FFs to 70 in harness(does NOT work for newborns without buying infant insert from Britax) Blvd has more of a headrest and provides more side impact protection. Harness and shell are not as tall as the other seats here.
Marathon
Blvd
MyRide 65 Rfs to 40lbs and 47 inches and FFs to 65lbs in harness, height is a bit lower but it RFs to 40lbs so great for chubby ones, has infant inserts so works for newborns

Sunshine kids radian 65 and 80-Rf to 40lbs (was raised recently from 33-40lbs because of new testing)(see pictures of radian surviving parking deck collapse here http://mbeans.com/spillingthebeans/baby/radian-car-seat-proves-its-metal/ ) the XTSL model(on the left) can now RF to 45lbs and 49 inches and FFs to 65 or 80 lbs harnesses...though the 80's harness strap height are the same as the 65.. there are infant inserts so works for newborns

Evenflo Momentum 65
RFs to 40lbs FFs to 65lbs. Shell is a bit lower than the TF but is taller than the other seats. No rethread harness. Side impact pillows. Very deep seat, great for long legs. Runs about $130 at ableebaby.com
Donny age 6 years 3 months 38lbs torso 15 inches

Sean age 3 years 2 months 30lbs 14 inch torso

Should've taken the headrest thing out
but infant insert was out (this is at RFing recline)

GREAT for newborns
AND Asher 6 weeks and around 10ish lbs 22-23 inches long(not sure torso)

FFing only harnessed seats
Notice some of the seats convert to booster with no straps
Graco Nautilus-harnesses to 65lbs, then high back booster to 80lbs and low back booster til 100lbs(booster is not the best fit for some kids in HBB)

and my boys in theirs at age 5 and almost 7

Britax Frontier-harnesses to 80lbs, but straps as tall as the Nautilus and booster til 100lbs(great booster, harness is 1-1.5 inches taller than the GN)

Britax Frontier 85- Highest height and weight harnessed seat on the market, torso limit is 20 inches and 85lbs. Makes a great tall booster too. . Booster mode can have a slide guard.
Britax Regent-harnesses to 80lbs-no booster mode(discontinued so older DOM)

I will not give recommendations for just boosters here...this is about actual carseats...boosters are another issue, read my post boosters are for big kids to see if your child needs a booster or is safe in just a seat belt.

awesome!!! ![]()
We have the Britax marathon for both kids now. I love those seats.
My kids (they will be 7 and 4 next month) each have a Nautilus. I love them!
Great Post. My 4yr old is harnessed in a Nautilus and I LOVE it. My 8mth old is in a Evenflo Triumph Advance, and I love it too. Ahh... I would sell body parts to be able to afford two Britaxs though.
the only 7 year old mentioned are both in Graco Nautilus seats, those seats do not rearface
my 2 year old rear faces in a truefit and I LOVE THE SEAT. my 4 year old is still harnessed in a nautilus and my 7 and 8 year olds are still in high back boosters, and will be until they are 4'9".
