I belong to a great local group of crunchy moms. They are all ap, most are health nuts and some are raw :) They all have been talking about making green smoothies for their babies and I always thought you need one of those $300 blenders to do it. People have been telling me that my $10 Wal-mart (yes, guilty) blender will not do the job so I never tried.
Until now! I wanted to make something sweet for me and my hubster while we were watching Star Trecks last night, so I blended some banana and strawberries, and I had some fresh kale on hand.. so I was like.. If my hubby doesn't like it, more for me. And what do you know! My cheapo blender chopped the kale like a champ! There were lots of tiny green pieces floating around, but it was still smooth and indulgently yummy! I made some for the kids in the morning and they LOVED it! I couldn't be more excited. My oldest one eats salad, but my boy doesn't touch anything that is green and they were both fighting to lick the blender cup :)) Our baby loved it too!
I am going to buy a whole bunch of greens at our local organic fruit stand this Friday and I'll be blending away! I am so excited!

too cool. Our gunie pig (sp?) has been a big factor in getting my little guy to eat vegies. I tell him "Wreckerd likes it" let him feed him some and then he'll eat it like it was candie!
I've done a lot of sneaking before, but I don;t do nearly as much now. I got lazy :) My boy would be sitting there picking the pieces of broccoli out of his meat loaf :)) The only thing I still do is chop spinach in their scrambled eggs - not really hiding it, but sneaking, definitely! :) But we don't eat that that often.
Do you have any other easy sneaky ideas like that?
What a great advantage to having a guiney pig! :)) We kind of had this too - daddy attempted (successfully) to get Nicole into dinos instead of barbies and let her watch lots of Little Foot movies.. They eat tree stars there (leaves from trees) and for the longest time my daughter would just eat plain raw spinach pretending they are tree stars :) Coming to think about it, I think that's how she started eating salad! :)
May be we should get a guiney pig :) it's a lot better than watching movies :)))

Awesome! I love sneaking food into my kids' diet! One day they'll think "wow, I like this food" and I'll know why ;)
