The FURminator deshedding tool!

No, I'm not insane.

Yes, I'm entirely serious.

I have a short-haired, but very furry Egyptian Mau, named Isis:

She's fed very good food, so dander and shedding aren't much of an issue and she never has hairballs, but cats still shed, regardless, especially in the spring and summer.  When they start getting loose undercoat, it makes their fur look less neat, less shiny, and they don't feel as soft.

So, I tried a brush like this:

And a brush like this:

And even one of these:

And they did okay.  The first was the best, but there was still lots of visible fur on my cat that could come loose, and she still wasn't as shiny as I wanted her to be, or knew she could be.
She's a gorgeous cat.  Not having her fur look the BEST it could, especially with all the other things I do for her health, seemed ridiculous and I was getting frustrated.

I was at the store, and saw the Furminator cat brush.

Then I saw the price tag of $40, made a disgusted face, and quickly put it back.  An employee said, "I know it's pricey, but if you need a brush, that is THE best one in the universe.  It's the one we use on all the animals we groom here."
That got my attention, but I was still staring at the price tag.  She, being a good salesperson, said, "Think of it this way - if you take it home and don't like it, we'll totally refund the purchase price.  Yes, even on a used brush.  But I PROMISE you won't want to bring this brush back."

I shrugged and figured, "What the hell," so I bought it.
I brought it home and grabbed my kitty.  I decided to do a test, so I grabbed my other brushes first and brushed her.  #1, I got about a fistful of fur from her back - that's not matted down, though.  #2 and #3 really only gave me a little bit of fur.
Next, I opened my new, ridiculously expensive cat brush and said to it, "Okay, you show me why I paid $40 for you, stupid thing," and ran it down my cat's back - in the same spot I'd used the other three brushes - just a couple times.

My jaw dropped.  This brush just provided me with a pile of fur near my cat's tail, about 2 times as much as the other three brushes COMBINED.  I brushed her a couple more times, and was just in awe at the amount of fur coming off of her.  It was hard to believe there was that much loose, AND that the other brushes sucked so incredibly bad.  I realized my pants were getting covered in huge wads of fur, and I asked my husband to get me a towel and the trashcan, so I didn't make an enormous mess on the carpet (more than I had already, anyway).  I brushed her for a good 20 minutes or so, and got another cat's worth of fur.  She looked SO shiny, felt so soft, and loved every minute of it.  Her fur was so smooth that when you pet her, it felt like you should be getting oil on your hand but weren't - it's just THAT smooth and silky.

So, next time I went to the store, I did NOT take the brush back.  Instead, I bought one for my mom, who has four cats.  (I got it on sale for $25 this time.)

I was recently out at my mom's house, and decided to brush her long-haired cat.
This is a stock ad photo for the Furminator brush... but let me tell you, this is NOT an unrealistic photo.  This is REAL results:

So, can you see now why I would sell this brush if I had to sell anything?  I 100% believe in this brush, and think it's a product that EVERY pet owner ABSOLUTELY should have, and I think it's absolutely freakin' amazing.

I decided to include a few videos:

Wow! We've had a terrible time finding a brush that works well for our dog. He sheds so badly during the summer.

You should sell them.  I am now thinking of buying one for my parents!

You crack me up. I've been thinking about getting one, actually. But every other hair remover I've tried hasn't worked, so I figured this one would be no different. But I have a dog that is propelled forward by the force of her hair leaving her body. It's a new law of energy, I think. But yeah, I totally need one of these.

I loathe cat hair.  It is impossible to pick off of clothing.
