Whenever I catch the scent from Lilacs and fresh cut grass I am immediatley brought back to my yard in the Spring & Summer where I grew up in Alna, Maine.

Oh, I know...ditto here!  I grew up in southern Indiana...and the lilacs were intense...another favorite smell was the Honeysuckle in the heat of the summer...but I must say, even when I may bacon (which seldom happens anymore), I'm reminded of my mom's cooking.  We had the "big" breakfast every day -- rain, sun, heat, cold!  I can still see her in my mind making breakfast...smelling bacon...and the coffee in the "percolator" (pre Mr. Coffe!).  Have a great day and fond memories of your childhood.  It is soooooo fleeting.
