I feel so energized by this sunshine! We didn't have this many birds last year. The cats take turns, two at a time, laying on the buffet and watching the feeder outside. In the morning, when the sun hits this window, the birds can't see the cats inside. Every once in a while I hear a THUD. Those cats get so excited over kitty tv. They never bother the little pets in cages inside, probably a combination of Mom's disapproval and pet rats biting cat toes on top of their cages (they just wanted some soft fur for their nests).

I just added 2 more cats to our menagerie.  A friend that works at a vet hospital/boarding facility told me about 2 young cats that were boarded and orphaned a few months later. Their owner was a soldier sent to Iraq and within two months had died there. I thought she was taking them to a pet adoption fair, so didn't take them right away. When I realized they were stuck there, I told her to bring them into town the next chance she got. Those two are like typical new cats that haven't had a lot of attention lately. They just want to hide, but if I pick them up and hold them they purr. The last 2 cats I adopted from the Humane society were like that, hiding in the laundry room for about a month but coming out occasionally to explore.

These 2 new ones will be 3 in July, Squirt already turned 3 last November. Squirt has been terrorizing the poor old lady and man cats - he wants to play and they don't. He runs across the room, jumps over and onto furniture and play attacks. Much hissing and growling from the older ones. I am hoping once the 2 new ones get settled, they will play with Squirt so he can leave the older ones alone. He needs a playmate more his size - the dog is so much bigger and Squirt gets more fun out of teasing the dog. Squirt plays a little, then lays down just out of reach of the dog. All these cats and dog is like having a houseful of 2 or 3 yr olds, except they are all potty trained, thank goodness!!
