A Little Bit of Hillmom

voice opinions and vent frustrations

I've never really had it or knew exactly what it was but thanks to "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" by Toni Weschler, MPH and "Fertility Cycles & Nutrition 3rd Edition" by Marilyn M. Shannon (both books every woman should read) I have come to understand that what I'm going through right NOW is PMS or Premenstrual Syndrome.

Granted my cycles is still funny, as I'm still nursing. Well, My cycles were becoming regular and I was feeling good but for the last two months (mainly this month) I can see it all in my chart. First my fertile quality CF (cervical fluid) days happen 1-2 days before the thermal shift (rise in waking temperature). Then the day of my thermal shift I became/ become moody, highly fatigued, depressed, crave sweets, etc. Needless to say I feel like crap!

Anyway, when at my LLL (Le Lecha League) meeting today the leader handed me "Fertility, Cycles & Nutrition"! I have only read the chapter on PMS but it looks like I have some nutritional adjustments that can help me with my PMS and stress symptoms. I'm so excited to give these a try. It is nice to know that there is research out there to guide women who suffer from PMS, and now I pass time wonderful info on to you!

Another reason that I've been really bummed today is parenting "issues". Not that I have a problem with the way I parent or the way my friend's parent; our views are just completely different. While I do have some friends online who feel the same way (and I'm not against having friends with different views), it would just be so nice to find another mom in my area, who I could do stuff with that had similar views as I do! Nevertheless, it is SO hard to find another "crunchy" momma here in small town Idaho!

Thanks for reading... I would love to have some fun and supportive comments!
