Both Shawn and Cody have Show and Tell at school tomorrow, and I came up with an awesome thing for each of them to take........Horse feet!!  Let me explain!  =)

Horse's feet grow like your fingernails, and they need trimmed about every 8 weeks.  Usually you just get little clippings (like when you trim your fingernails), but my horses' hooves were quite long (shame on me!), so when Jessica trimmed them there were a few pieces that were perfect outlines of the hoof, whole pieces, like someone had just sliced off the bottom.

So I've rinsed them off, although they will still be smelly, and I'll put them in a baggie for tomorrow.  I think the other kids will get a kick out of it!  Plus, it will be a mini science lesson! lol  I'll post a picture in a bit!

Apr. 25, 2007 at 3:19 PM I thank that is a cool idea! We dont' live in a rural area (where there are some rural areas in our areas...okay you get the drift!)  But our church is in a very rural area and one of the ladies at our church is a large animal vet and she gave my son a real horse shoe (used! LOL!) He took it on the letter "H" week. At his preschool they do a letter a week and they take in something that starts with that letter! The kids thought it was SO COOL! Not something you get to see everyday! LOL!
