Friends..

So this is me and my husband's first time out on our own. He jioned the Navy last year in November and we are moved away here to Norfkolk, VA away from all our family and friends. And I find myself alone most of the time because he is always at work and he has the car to go to work.

But as I start to think of friends back home..I realize I am doing the same thing here that I was doing back home since I had my child. I hate that all my close friends either done something to betray my trust or some just drift because they do not understand the things I cannot do anymore because I have a kid.

Even with my husbands friends. They are all young, so most of them are single. It is so hard to meet new people these days and have good friendships. I mean that is why we are all here on this website right? Because we all have something in common and that is being a mother. But I find it still hard to build on relationships. And it is so lonely form time to time to not have girl talks.

I can only talk so much about problems to my husband and his Navy buddies.

I know how you feel, because of my husbands job we are reuired to move around a lot so it's hard to make friends.  We just got transferred overseas and it's been hard on everyone.

I'm sorry! have you looked up GROUPS in the Tidewater/Hampton Roads area....Just SEARCH GROUPS, then FIND GROUPS...there are a few and some have playgroups...maybe you and your child(ren) could meet friends!

what other interests do u have??  i live in norfolk as well....navy wife.....imagine that!  i have met about 5 different gals here on cafemom through the scrapbooking groups and well....i have friends now!  definetly start joining groups, for your interests AND local groups, cm is a GREAT way to make new friends!!!

I know exactly how you feel. If you would like to get together and take the kids somewhere then I would love to do that. Just let me know.
