Well, even though earthquakes prevail in LA, nothing beats NY News.  A plot to blow up synagogues and to buy missiles to target certain American military ops, was foiled last night thanks to FBI undercover work.  I have always had a "thing" for FBI men.  Sailors are in town and running around the city in their pristine whites - which leads me to ask - just what do they use to get those whites so white??? I won't even buy summer white washable sandals - they don't have a chance in NY streets.

Apparently if you are a flip flop wearer (I so have given up the high heels and have a wardrobe of those flip flops now that I am constantly walking in NY) or baseball hat wearer - you are at significant risk of melanomas - because you probably don't slather on the sunblock on feet tops and ear tips.  I confess, I need to get better at that.  This am, Today Show featured a new diet book, that again targets individual dieters, which is fine - but can we all agree that families need lifestyle change - not mommies dieting!!!  I will keep trying to suggest this notion though I'm beginning to feel like I am calling out to an empty stadium.

I can't tell anyone I am an Angelino today -the Mets lost in a 3 game series to the Dodgers...I don't even like the Dodgers, but apparently that won't matter... I haven't established myself here in NY sufficiently to claim "disassociation from LA."  On the other hand, my husband with more time on his hands (since I am not occupying some of his meager non-hospital time, is getting his mom to the dentist...so overdue.  The verdict?  Lots of pulling teeth and dentures.  When it's over, she will finally be able to enjoy food again.

I am reading an inspirational book, The Artist's Way, which my daughter recommended to me.  She thinks I need to re-invent myself professionally and "unblock."  OK, I thought moving to NY was "re-inventing myself" but - she's right - I do need to re-think the next professional phase of my life so I will persevere and read this book - cause right now, the meta-physical writings in the beginning are not really clicking with me but... I will read on.
