The icing on the cupcake....

my opinions sprinkled with your thoughts

My seven year old has been drawing for as long as I can remember. I think he started drawing really detailed stuff when he was about four. He used to ask me to draw for him, and I can barely put together a decent stick figure.

I would tell him "You draw it"

and he would say "I can't"

so I told him " just think about what shapes make up what you want to draw and go from there"

Well he went alright! Here is his latest drawing.

The description of "Creature Man" in his own words:

"This is Creature Man. He can chew and break through anything. He is very hairy. He has a sidekick. His name is Cockroach. Cockroach can shrink to any size and fit into anything. He can even shrink smaller than a germ. Cockroach has a little flying saucer thing that can also shrink. They are both in the Super League of Weirdos."

I posted this on my blog site and only got one comment. I don't normally beg for attention, but last night my son asked if there were any comments and at the time there were none. He got a little disappointed when I told him that. Could you please comment for me and vote popular? I would love to show him a ton of comments on this awesome drawing!

My now 10-year-old is the artist of our family. He, like your son, showed amazing detail at a very young age. I will be sure to show Logan this drawing. It reminds me very much of his creations and stories he writes. Tell your boy that he is VERY gifted and continue drawing what ever he pictures in his mind! Thanks for sharing. :)

He's a much better artist than I am! LOL I love his description. That's awesome. Can I apply to be in the Super League of Weirdos?

I have a son ( now 26) who was very much like your son when it came to drawing...you should see his work now....
Your son has a very good imagination and an eye for detail. I am very impressed with his talent.....continue to encourage him.
Tell him that I said he is a very good artist and hope that he will continue to share his work with us.....
