Ok, so i figured that the best way to keep from flaming is to not comment on a group post, but to post my particular opinion (since I wasn't the OP) about people's attitudes in my own damn journal. That way, if you don't like it, HIT THE BACK BUTTON. I'm not invading anyone else's screen unless you choose to.

So there's a group post that I read and posted my particular opinion to where the mom was looking for some 411 on circumcision. Of course, we all have our opinions and experiences, and I thought that that's all it was for. Give the mom some real-world, already-done true story stuff. But apparently some moms feel the need to ridicule people even in THAT forum! Really?! Calling people's opinions "garbage" is hardly a respectable way to voice an opinion. Pointing out that parents are doing something to the child's body is really kind of stupid too, if you think about it - for how many damn years are the PARENTS the ones that sorta kinda HAFTA be the ones doing things to the child's body, making decisions regarding everything from the frequency of diaper changes, to the diaper rash cream choice, to "powder or not powder", cloth or disposable, pierced or not, etc...?? I mean, that's a really stupid argument, IMO. And that's all it is - MY opinion. Which is why it's posted HERE, in MY journal. Which is personally where I think that mom should have left her rudeness. And she's supposedly a Christian. In my branch of Christianity, we preach tolerance. Guess that lesson got left out of her last homily.

One of the biggest things I've noticed is that it's the people who are AGAINST circumcision that are doing most of the rudeness and insulting. If you don't like it, FINE. Obviously you won't be doing it to your male children. More power to ya! You think it's stupid to be doing anything because it's simply cosmetic. Fine! More power to ya! Guess you're happily "aging gracefully" with no revitalift serum or other implements. But instead of disseminating intolerance, why don't you just chuck in your 2 cents' worth like everyone else and post your nastiness in your own journal?
