Wednesday I got my braces off and had hoped to visit my dad in the ICU after we got back (I had to drive two hours to the doctor and two hours back). I called my grandparents to see how my dad was doing after I got home. They put him back on a respirator after they found out his lungs were filling with liquid. They also found that there was tissue growing into the blood vessels in his left leg because of how badly damaged his leg was so yesterday was a pretty close call. They weren't able to operate on his leg or foot the day before because they were both too swollen so instead they just cleaned out the wounds.

I called them again today to see if anything had improved. They are keeping him pretty heavily medicated, so he's barely concious. My grandpa said not to bother to come out today because he probably wouldn't remember me visiting or even be able to talk to me at all. They've been in town since Sunday and will be going back home tomorrow for a few days until the doctors decide when they will be operating again. They also put my dad on an air mattress to help protect against bed sores since he can't move much at all.

A lot of my dad's family have been talking to me again since I went and saw him. My aunt said she and my uncle (my dad's brother) were thrilled that I went and saw him. They let me know they will be visiting him on Saturday with their 1 year old son (whom I have yet to meet) so I will probably visit my dad Saturday so I can see them too. Plus, I have the day off so I will be able to spend the entire day there.

I work tomorrow so I'm going to call my grandparents again on my break to see if anything has changed and I'll keep everyone updated. Please continue to pray from my dad and our family.. keep him in your thoughts. Thanks!
