Here are the thoughts coming from two know conservatives.
Irony goes with your avatar to this quote mamawbrie "We should show them the same treatment they showed the American citizens who died on 9-11. "
Also if you do your homework water boarding and holding your breath while swimming are not comparable.
Ahhhhh, you must be one of those bleeding heart liberals. Where's your concern and compassion for the American citizens who were MURDERED on 9-11? Don't try to make me look like the villain...I didn't participate in one of the worst acts of terrorism perpetrated on our country!
Do you know for a fact that anyone detained in Gitmo even HAD any connection to 911? Or any connection to Al-Qaeda for that matter? Because the information that is slowly coming to light is proving quite the opposite....
Regardless of what was done to Americans doesn't mean that we should stoop down to the level of torture... you know, as long as it's not AS bad...
We're BETTER THAN THAT... or at least we like to pretend we are. If we're going to pretend that we have any moral authority, we have to be moral examples.
We should be better than terrorists.
So if we don't agree with torture, we're terrorist sympathizers? That makes perfect sense.

I haven't heard ANY "proof" that none of the detainees DIDN'T have anything to do with 9-11. They are clearly Islamic extremists and that makes them dangerous, and is reason enough not to allow them to be turned loose. Now how many of you had sympathy for Timothy McVeigh? Just curious. Come on now, don't by a hypocrite. He was put to death. Do you think he got what he deserved? I certainly do.
No human being with any sort of a moral compass can say that torture is good. But is it necessary at times?
Take this hypothetical. There is a terrorist attck planned on one of the schools in your city. You have children attending one of those schools. They have one of the perpetrators in custody, but there others out there who are planning on going through with the attack. Would you approve of waterboarding being used to find out the details of the attack and preventing the bombing of the school?
I would.

Nobody died as a result of waterboarding. People are just making mountains out of mole hills.
