So, you subscribe to "guilty until proven innocent", eh Brie?

They are clearly Islamic extremists and that makes them dangerous, and is reason enough not to allow them to be turned loose.

Brie, you are clearly a Christian extremist and THAT makes you dangerous.  I will pray for you - and I'm an atheist, by the way, but I seriously think you need all the help you can get.

Torture is torture and should not be tolerated BY anyone TO anyone for ANY reason.

Zanjea, your take is the same as my husband's.  I would want to know what we need to know, too, but at the same time I would hate for us to be the same as they are.

I feel the same way about torturing suspected terrorists that I do about the death penalty.  I don't like it because there is always a chance of torturing or killing an innocent person.  That is not anything I want to be a part of.

Take this hypothetical.  There is a terrorist attck planned on one of the schools in your city.  You have children attending one of those schools.  They have one of the perpetrators in custody, but there others out there who are planning on going through with the attack.  Would you approve of waterboarding being used to find out the details of the attack and preventing the bombing of the school?

I would.

Bottom line...these terrorists don't have, or deserve, any rights.  We should show them the same treatment they showed the American citizens who died on 9-11.  We got what we needed out of them, instead of even considering the asinine idea of bringing them to prisons in the U.S. they should just take them out and execute them.

We no longer have any use for them, and there's no doubt if they're let go, they'll return to terrorism.  No other country wants them either, not even the countries they CAME from.  We had Bin Laden in our grips when Clinton was in office and they let him go, look at the results.

I have absolutely no tolerance or respect for terrorist sympathizers.  That's about as anti-American as you can get, and is right up there with treason!

Zanjea, no I would not.  First because Morally it is wrong.  Revenge is only for the Lord.  Second the information they got is likely to be wrong.  There are better methods for getting info.  Most information received through torture is made up to stop the pain.

There is a hypothetical for everything.  What if you were accused of being tied to some horrible event.  They tortured your children to get you to fess up?  Does that make it okay?  What if they thought you were because your were friends with your neighbor that hijacked a plane?  They would be justified.

What if it was another country.  They found you and took your kids.  They cut off each of their toes and fingers because America tortures too.  Maybe they throw acid on their little faces.  Maybe they just hurt you.  Would you not fess up to something not true just to stop this?  I would.

McCain and every military man I know that has ever been on the relieving end of this does not think it is okay.

They were able to stop an attack on a temple this week without torture.

Jesus said we are no longer supposed to go by the 'eye for an eye' mentality.  How can any Christian think that it is okay?

Now, that being said, if someone ever hurt one of my children, I don't know if I could be forgiving like those Amish people where when their children were shot by that madman, but I hope I could.  I would want revenge, but, as Christians, we are not supposed to seek vengeance.

Yes, I am also one of those bleeding heart liberals.

I am actually not speaking about revenge, I was speaking about preventing the school from being blown up.  I wasn't talking about waterboarding him to get back at him.

I knew that many would disagree.  Guess that is what makes the  world go round.  Thank God for His grace!

Blah de blah de blah.  Hey, it's OK, if BO releases them from GITMO, they'll come to CO to our super-max prison, and I can guarantee they'll be subjected to more than water-boarding ;D

You're right Gaia, I AM DANGEROUS, if I see any of those animals walking the streets, I'll shoot first and water-board/question later ;D  I'll be sure to pray for you too hun ;-)

BTW, the ones who need "help" are the ones showing sympathy for terrorists.  No doubt in my mind if it were one of your loved ones who was killed you wouldn't be sitting here on your phony, pious, high horses.

Oh, and why has nobody bothered to respond to my question about Timothy McVeigh?  Huh? You can say what you want about me, I know the tactic, it's not going to change that terrorists are our enemy and they'd repeat their dastardly deeds if given the chance.
