So I'm starting to get to know some of the faces of this NY neighborhood. there's a lady who wheels her little dog in a shopping cart for a walk every morning. I thought dogs were actually supposed to walk during "their morning walk", but I guess in this case, the therapy is the lady pushing her little dog...it's very cute. I actually have a "thing" about shopping carts because my mom used to make me pick up the laundry with one of those oh not so chic carts and to this day I still cringe when I see one. such lasting scars.....
Then there's the lady who sets up shop on 8th ave and 51st street , literally in the middle of the side walk with a folding table and old books and nic nacs (all used and old) to sell. she spends most of her time applying her blazing red lipstick using a compact, liner, gloss and tissues to wipe of and re-apply all over againl I don't think she sells anything but I know I'll see her everyday....Maybe I'll ask her what shade of red that lipstick is....
There are the homeless who all see to have "their spot" - one guy sits outside my dry clean all day - I guess he figures if you can still afford to dry celan your clothes in these times, you can afford to give him a hand out. I only put my clothes in once a week now!!
I'm off to Los Angeles Sunday to spend a week with my collegiate - first year is over - before he leaves for China. My daughter vacationing in ?Brazil tells me - allthere is to eat here is cheese-meat- chocolate (I would never survive but she is embracing it for the moment) she has falllen in love with Rio. I have as yet to see China or Rio......
