I have had my share of jobs out side of the home, but I have always been the happiest when I was taking care of kids. When my daughters were little, we were having some money issues, so baby sitting was the perfect answer!  SO..... I answered an add in our local little news paper. I was taking care of two little girls, just younger than my own.  My oldest will be 32, and my youngest will be 31.  These girls are now 29, and 27.  We went to church together, and Mom and I became friends and worked out together 3 days a week.  ( I found out, after watching the girls for a few years, that their dad was one of our neighbors as I was growing up.)

When my x and I started really having problems, I quit sitting.....by then they were 10 and 8.  I lost touch because I closed everyone out. I didn't want my friends getting caught in the cross fire of the divorce.

At Thanks Giving time, my youngest daughter was looking for friends on Face Book. She ran across a name she remembered.  She sent this person a note. Yes it was indeed one of the girls that we had become so close to. This girl is now in Arizona, and going to school. My daughter gave her my info. I got a call from her, and she was still that little girl. Then at Christmas, I got to talk to her again.  She told me where her sister was working, and DH and I went there. She works in a restaurant, s we went to have dinner. Being as I am not married to the same man, she didn't recognize me.  When I pulled out a photo of her and my dog, she was soooo excited.

The older girl was in town last week. We made arrangements to get everyone together and  have a picnic at a local park......OH how wonderful. There were tears, and smiles, and hugs, and camera's clicking. You know the old phrase Remember when? That seemed to be the way most sentences started. It was truly an awesome day.

When I got back home, I really felt old. How can these kids be so big? I am truly greatful, and so blessed, that Our Lord gave me the love that is in my heart. He gave me so much more than my share.

We have two families in our lifetime. One that we are born into, and one that God lets us pick,  our friends!  Sometimes, they just blend together, and ya can't tell them apart.  I am so glad that God let me be a part of their lives.
