Twelve year old found dead - very sad

My mom just told me something that happened to a woman she works with.

Her nephew, who is 12, was found dead in his room on Thursday morning.  He was found with a belt wrapped around his neck, laying down on his bed.

They ruled out the choking game, and they ruled out suicide. 

He liked to buld forts on his bed and sleep in them.  Apparently he got tangled in the fort and got the belt wrapped around his neck somehow and was strangled. 

This kid was 12, not two, not four, but 12.  I would have never thought a 12 year old would die like that.  I thought for sure that a 12 year old would wake up if something like that happened.  But no, sadly, he didn't.

I just want to let all of you know, just in case your kids like to do stuff like this.  I would have never imagined it would kill a 12 year old child, but my mom's co-worker's family learned the hard way that it can.
