In my own defense, my legs are a little bigger around than they used to be and it takes some time to do it well. As a mother of four demanding tyrants, er, I mean blessings, shaving time is a fleeting memory. As an aside, I do shave my armpits daily and even pluck my eyebrows when I feel masochistic.
As I am almost naturally blonde, my sprouting leg hair isn't so noticable unless I'm in shorts and you are sitting on my lap. That was the problem. My 3 year old daughter, who would rather I have a pouch to carry her around in, had finished her nap. That time of the day affectionately known as "blessed moments of silence" was officially over. I knew this because little feet carried her to my office and propelled her to my lap (which was only partially covered by my shorts).
"Ouk, you hoot me!" Being new to the English language, her speech is not always easily understood.
"What?" I asked distracted by my Facebook page.
"You legs hoot me, they pok'd." She sat on my lap, lifting her legs like a pilates instructor. It took me a minute to comprehend the crises.
"Oh." I said stifling a laugh. "Hmm, maybe I do need to shave. Do you want to get down?"
"Ouk, you hoot me moow." She could not believe I had not taken immediate apologetic action. This unexpected situation needed to be rectified now so the princess could rest on her throne (my lap) in peace and nonpain, able to dictate her will to the unworthy - me.
"Mommy needs to shave, but I can't right now." I had 2 friend requests to respond to, and besides a fight between my boys just broke out in the adjoining room.
As if I was removing a tumor, I extricated her from my lap, careful not to touch her delicate and sensitive skin to my overly furry limbs.
"Why don't we get you some popcorn and you can watch the boys?" Smirk. The boys heard me and stopped arguing.
"Popcone!" - Problem solved. And I bought myself 2.5 minutes to call my mom and make her laugh.
I guess it is time to bribe my kids to watch their sister and take 10 minutes to shave. At least the tops of my legs. Of course, if I don't, in a few days it will be long enough to lay down and not poke my daughter. A few more and I could braid it. My 3 year old would think it was beautiful, but I doubt my 12 year old would.![]()

rofl. Well my hubby is not overseas, and I do still go weeks without shaving. haha. He doesn't care, I don't wear shorts regularly, and I hate to shave. Who ever said shaving was natural anyway?!
What made this post so funny - - and it was funny in its own right - - was that I so completely understand it. For a minute, I thought you were writing about me!!!! LOL

Bwahahahaha, my hubby is deployed so I let it grow for weeks at a time. Although now with summer here, I have to shave more often. grrrrr. Why can't they invite a machine that just zaps it out in five seconds? I would definitely PAY big bucks for that! LOL
And if you do briad it, go for a french braid, so much prettier! LOL
