So as I have stated in my profile,at least I think, I have 8 cats, 4 ferrets, 4 parakeets, 1 Green Cheek Conure, 2 Siberian Huskies, and a fish tank.
I have sometimes too much of a soft heart. I love all my critters as much as I love my own daughters. Last year, I was almost lost my female Siberian Husky because she swollowed a rock. Yes, a rock. It showed up on an X-ray. I took her home and she became severely dehydrated while waiting for surgery the next morning because she couldn't keep anything down. I rushed her to an Emergency Hospital and thought I was losing her for good. After much convincing from them night time vet, she would be fine to make thru her surgery later that day at the other vet hospital. Needless to say, I am in debted (and debt) to my mother for helping with the vet bills of 2 vet hospitals. Siku would not be here today if she had not been there to help.
I thought today was comparable to that day last year in how I felt today. In my earlier journal I wrote how my Katana had escaped and flew out of our house. After much coaxing with a bucket of water and tapping the water so she could see it she came down out of the tree, and hasn't really left my shoulder since we got her wings clipped. I really can't put into words how happy, Blessed, and thankful that I have my babies with me.
Call me crazy for feeling that way about an animal, but I love them as my own flesh and blood children

I'm with you!
Last year my Ragdoll cat Hershey swallowed a penny of all things and required surgery. I still owe the vet around 300 bucks. I'd do it all over again!
I agree the fur babys are important too we have two cats , one dog ,4hamster ,gerbils, a guinea pig, a bunny and goats and chickens we are out numbered just don't tell the animals they could revolt
So true! My puppies are our babies and very much a part of our family. I can completely relate! :)
