I went "green" a few years ago now.

In the beginning I did what most people are doing now. I bought lots of stuff because it was "Green" I got "green" gizmos, "Green" Gadgets and tons of So-called "green" Nik-naks.

I thought Hey, I cant still buy tons of stuff and be "green"! Awesome Right?

Well, Not so much.

A big part of the issue is not What we are using its how much we are CONSUMING and how much we as People WASTE!

So I still buy things that are "green" I just buy much less...If I don't need it, (I mean a REAL need) I don't buy it!

Do you really need all brand new clothes for baby girl (or boy) #2? No! if you need extras try Thrifting! I hunt for the nice clothes a few times a month and Drop off my old goods...I just dropped off a box of stuff at Goodwill that I bought there a year ago! If it stays in use it makes a great Difference.

Americans consume so much! But we rarely ever refresh things, or find ways to put old things to good use...either by upcycling or Sending them to people who Need them.

So yes Those new shoes may have recycled tires for soles but are the ones on your feet or in your closent so bad that you REALLY need a new pair?

So you NEED a new Dress, have you checked the local thrift shops (I have got BEAUTIFUL dresses with tags still on for 2$!...one had a price tag still on it marked at 100 Dollars!)You might be surprised at the Great things hiding on those racks!

And its not like I Dont Ever buy new things, Sometimes You need to buy new because you cant find what you need used ( I dont buy used shoes, just kind gross IMO, But I only buy new shoes when I NEED them...then the old pair become gardening and hiking shoes!)

We all need to think about the So called "green" things we are Doing, while we may have the best intentions we may just be doing more harm then good!
