When we moved this time, I had all the boxes, and small pieces of furniture placed into the garage, rather than distributed all over the house; this way, I bring only 1 box in at a time, empty it, and keep serenity in my surroundings, (as the chaos of boxes, paper, and misplaced "things" sours my mood quite completely).
I guess, I'm a minimalist; I really am HAPPY that all that CRAP is out in the garage...I want to go open the garage and have a dollar sale..
Everything, ONE DOLLAR. Surely there are people right now who need what I'm not using..and each dollar can go toward a good cause.
3 T.V's are out there, clothing I forgot we had, pots, pans, plates, bowls....there are 4 of us, and 54 plates if you include the fine china that we never eat of off. I feel...greedy.
I feel over indulged, spoiled, and as though I've somehow taken more than my fair share...does that make sense?
How did this happen? Where did it all come from, and WHY? Why did I ever think I needed all of this?
Maybe in my last life, I lived through the depression...now, I'm a hoarder??
Less is more..I can tell you this now with absolute certainty, as I sit in a clean, clutter free, quiet home. The cupboards aren't full, the closets aren't chaos, the floor space is open and inviting; the things that really matter are showcased, rather than lost, and I tell you...I'm learning from this.
It hasn't been easy, but I'm learning.
Now...about that Dollar Sale.....no joke.
All the way around, I'm finished allowing clutter to gather around my joy.
xo
EnJOY your day, Sisters.
Comments:
I agree as well...less is definitely more. I HATE clutter! Hope you are enjoying your new clutter-free home. :)
Enjoy the process and yes -- have a sale too! ;-) There's something to be said for having ..."just enough" ;-).
Like I say:
Possessions own you, not the other way around.

Hey, we're completely on the same page today. As usual best friend :) (Sometimes it's eerie don't you think? ).
Yes, I once lost every "thing" I owned to a natural disaster. Know what I learned? That you can live without all that "stuff" and what is really important. About a year later, starting again once more in the throes of a divorce, then I felt needy and for about two years was on a mission to accumulate the basic necessities of life on a very limited income. Amazing what you can live without, and how liberating it is to learn that the "stuff" of life is truly dispensable.
check out a site called bonanzle I like it way better then Ebay, it is like an online yardsale.... he he he and you know me and yard sales. Trust me when I say I can send you pictures that would make ya feel deprived when compard to my sisters house. Only she displays nearly ALL of it, no wall space no nothing , you walk in and feel smothered literally..
Good for you, what a great method. I shall remember the 1 box rule should ever I move again...
Whenever I have too much I get overwhelmed and cranky, so I have a yard sale or donate boxes and bags of unnecessary clutter.
When I have less I feel light and energized.
Less is always greater.
