I never wrote birth stories for most of my kids so I thought I would just collaborate all the info I could into one post...
My oldest son Nicholas Brendan was born 10-7-03 at 7:28a.m.
This was definetly my most difficult birth out of all my babies. (Labor was 8 hours from beginning to end, but extremely painful due to my lack of knowledge about pitocin). I had been given pitocin to speed up my labor because I was very impatient and it was my first child. I opted NOT to get pain meds or an epidural, even though the contractions were spiking off the chart, and I was screaming as loud as I could. I pushed for about 30 minutes or less, and had an episiotomy because I was about to tear in 3 places. He was born a healthy baby boy=)
Nicholas Brendan 10-7-03 7:28a.m. 6lbs. 11oz. 19 1/2in.
My second son Nathan James was born 4-11-05 at 4:21a.m.
After a beautiful walk in the park labor had started. I stayed at 5 minutes apart from the very beginning. After several hours and a bath we went to the hospital, and they confirmed I was in labor. They hooked me up to an IV which was absolutely horrible. I had a very easy labor and no hard contractions, just very mild and fairly noticable on the monitor. All of a sudden I had one gigantic contraction as I leaned the bed up, and out popped the baby! The nurse was holding his head in till the doctor ran back in the room. (He was on his way out to get Pitocin to speed up the labor because HE was impatient) and was bitching about having to drive home and back since I wanted to wait it out. Well guess his plan failed. Again I had no Meds or epidural. It was a super easy natural child birth experience, and I couldn't have been prouder of myself. 16 hours of easy labor=)
Nathan James 4-11-05 4:21a.m. 6lbs. 3oz. 19in.
My third son Nolan Patrick was born 10-1-06 at 12:15p.m.
We went for a walk on the beach one night, and after we went home and climbed into bed I realized our plan worked. (I walked myself into labor again) It was harder than Nathan but much easier than when I had Nicholas. I chose not to get an IV this time! Best decision I had ever made=) Everything went smoothly for the most part. I was 10 cm and almost ready to push but I had an Anterior lip on my cervix (it hadn't rounded out on one part) so I had to labor on my left side for awhile while my husband pushed my back forward and pulled my hip backwards. I guess it's supposed to help the cervix round out. The doctor knew this was my third baby and decided it was Daddy's turn to get a chance to deliver a baby. My husband was all up for it, and got suited and got sterile doctor gloves on and everything. Finally I got to push and it didn't take but a few pushes and he was out, the doctor directed him each step 1 by 1 while the baby was coming out. It was a proud moment in time for Danny! 17 hours of labor. Completely natural again. I felt very accomplished after this knowing that I could do what sounded impossible before I actually had kids.
Nolan Patrick 10-1-06 12:15p.m. 6lbs. 12oz. 20in.
My fourth son Nevan Michael was born 6-30-08 at 9:01a.m.
Well on I woke up at 5a.m. after 2 hours of sleep, I started getting contractions at 5:30(but didn't pay much attention till an hour later I noticed they were exactly 4min apart. At almost 7:00 I called my hubby and told him what was going on and that I would call him back in 30 min. if they didn't stop. Well all of a sudden the contractions got really painful. I called everyone and told them I was having the baby TODAY! My hubby drove like crazy to get back home, including driving on the shoulder and dodging around traffic. By the time he got home my contractions were 1-2min apart. I got to the hospital around 8:40 in the room around 8:50 and had the baby at 9:01 after being in the delivery room for maybe 10 min. When I got there I was 10cm and ready to push. I had to try hard not to push him out in the car. My doctor almost didn't make it(he got there in time to break my water and he was out in a good push or two. They made me stop pushing after his head came out because he had passed some Meconium in Utero, and the cord was around his neck. But we have a healthy little boy. My heaviest baby yet out of the 4 boys! A grand total labor time of 3 1/2 hours tops=) My shortest labor ever. Short and Natural, just the way I like it!
Nevan Michael 6-30-08 9:01a.m. 7lbs. 2oz. 19 1/2 inches
Final note.....
I look back at all my birth stories and see that each one is completely different in my eyes. I am glad that most of the births went really smoothly, and I have to say that I can't wait to be able to add another birth story to this journal one day=) I feel proud that I was able to do this without pain meds or epidurals. I thank my family for being there, and a friend or two along the way. And to my husband, thank you for the beautiful babies we have created together! Where's the girl dammit??? j/k. I love you and always will. Thanks ladies for taking the time to read my stories!

Great stories....I feel for you, we are expecting girl #4 in August. No boys for us.
mommybecky~I wouldn't trade places with you! I am such a Tomboy, so I think it's the reason God gave me boys instead of girls!
I wish mine went so smoothly mine where all very confusing and 6 boys later i'm still waiting for a girl.
Mummytomore~I am so jealous, I would love to have 6 already.=) I'm only at 4 so far!
Reading your birth stories is like dejavu. I too opted for no pain meds and had wonderful birth experiences with all 3 of my boys.
Okay, very cool ( and you are making me feel a tad guilty with the pain meds part but I do light epidural so I can feel the end portion better). I have three boys and HOPING that this fourth one is my girl. Your four boys story is scaring the crap out of me..lol. I won't be doing round 5. Props to you! I hope this one is your girl though.
