So Catie is officially 1 year old. Her birthday started out like a wonderful one! Until Catie started screaming... and screaming, and screaming. Poor thing had a fever, a terrible cough, and horrible congestion.

We had decided to go to the zoo for her birthday, but with Catie feeling as bad as she did, we decided that Chuck E Cheese was the best. So off we went.

Catie was so excited when we got there-- she loves music, and was just dancing away! She ate an entire slice of pizza (she's sick, so that's a lot for her!) and learned to drink from a straw. (I'll post pics later)

Right when we were about to start taking some pictures on the rides, my camera battery died!! OH, NO!! We had to use our cell phones instead...

Then comes the cake (4 hours after pizza)-- which she would not touch. Not even to taste. And then she refused to eat dinner!

So all in all, it was a day that I wish I could do over...

TAKE 2-- Friday, May 29. 1 year and 1 day old. We decide to try the birthday cake again. Thinking surely she'd eat it this time. She did, a bit. But as soon as she started getting into the cake, the damn camera stopped working! I just charged the batteries! And it worked a few mintues before! Now it won't even turn on. So we didn't get good pics of our baby's first birthday cake adventure. I'm so upset right now, I could cry! In fact, I have cried over the whole situation!!

Let's just go back a few days... get a new friggen camera, one that will actually work! Then maybe these last 2 memory-filled days could be better preserved...

AND the cool-mist humidifier broke this evening!! So now, my sick baby girl doesn't have a humidifier to help her breathe tonight. Crappy humidifier. Stupid crappy camera... grrr... I'm going to call the humidifier company on MOnday to complain-- we've only had it 2 months!

On a different note, Catie is 1 year and 1 day old. We're still nursing (go us!) and she's sleeping just fine through the night. She's to the point where, even at nap time, we can put her in her crib (after a few mintues of nursing) and she'll go right to sleep. YAY! No cry-it-out for us! She's almost walking (my dad thinks it'll be within the next 2 weeks, we shall see!) and she has 8 teeth. She's the joy of our lives, and this past year has been the best year of our lives.

Happy Birthday, baby girl. Mommy and Daddy love you.

Aww! Happy Birthday Catie! I meant to post in your chatterbox yesterday, but totally forgot :-( Sorry about your camera and about Catie being sick.
