My sweet Matthew is 10. He had an MRI the middle of April to look at his hypothalamus. He sleeps alot! He can sleep 12 hrs at night then turn around and sleep the day away. As a matter of fact he's sound asleep right now in his room.
Anyway they didn't find anything with his brain or hypothalamus. But they did find a benign spot/tumor on his pituitary gland. The dr told me this over the phone after he had conferred with another neurologist in his practice. Not a phone call I wanted to get even after calling the neuro office several times a week for the past 4 weeks trying to get the results! The dr. told me that this particular one (I was walking my boys home from the bus stop when he called and was in a bit of shock and can not for the life of me remember what he called it) is "nothing to worry about" that they can sometimes shrink and go away in 6 to 12 months. So he is ordering another MRI for 6 months from now. He said if it stays the same and doesn't cause problems we'll keep monitoring it. If it grows we'll remove it.
So Monday I'm going to call back and get the name of this and ask some more questions but this was just basically thrown at me and I now have questions. I assumed over the past 6 weeks that the MRI was normal since I didn't get a written report and none of my previous phone calls were returned!
So while the dr says it's nothing to worry about that is WAY easier said than done! I'm just asking that you keep him and us in your thoughts. Dh is still out of town working and will more than likely be gone another month or so. Many many many delays have come up that have delayed the carpentry aspect of the job here and there. He's now been gone for 6 weeks.

HUGS Jennifer! I'd have questions for the doctors too- and I'll be talking to you soon I'm sure! You are always in our thoughts here!
Give ALL my nephews a hug and kiss from Aunt Shell. You know I am here anytime you want to talk etc. Love you Jen
