*Update 6-2-09 *
We just got home from the doctor and the break is not that bad. She only needs her cast on for 3 weeks! But the doc did say that he has seen sooooo many terrible injuries to kids from 4-wheeler accidents. She will not be riding those anymore (at least until she is older)!!! Thanks for being so supportive Mamas! Love ya!!
Hey everyone! I hope you had a good weekend. I thought I would share a little about mine. My daughter was at her grandparent's house on Saturday and riding the 4-wheeler (which I did not like in the first place but no one listens to me...I'm just the Mom) and she fell off and broke her wrist. They didn't even call my husband or I! They didn't think it was that bad. It wasn't swollen or anything, it just hurst but still, you never know! When she came home that night I insisted that we take her in and what do you know, she broke it!
So, now she is a in a splint and sling and we go to the doctor tomorrow to get a cast. Not sure if it will be on for 4 weeks or 6 weeks. This is the last week of school and we have so much planned for the summertime. I just feel so bad for her that she won't be able to do all of the fun summer stuff:-( Keep her in your thoughts please!!
How many of you have kids with broken bones right now? Thought it would be interesting to know:-) Have a wonderful week!!
Sarah

oh my daughter did the same thing she drove a four wheeler too and fractured her wrist but she just got a cast on no sling. Fist time ever for her and she will be graduating in a month. So I can understand your pain girl and you know what she fractored her right hand her writting hand out of all the times you know.
Oh my gosh! Hope she is doing okay and that her spirits are up. My DH and I always worry about things like that happening to our daughter. Ugh. Hang in there and giver her an extra special hug. Ugh. ![]()
Oh no, poor girl! Sounds like my daughter last summer - right at the beginning of summer, too - she too was on the fourwheeler, she hit a bump, her helmet fell down over her eyes, and she hit a tree. Broke her foot. I'm so sorry for you daughter, I hope she's not in for the whole six weeks. ![]()
Sorry your daughter broker her arm =-( No broken bones but we have had one emergency surgery due to septic hip!
Oh I'm so sorry I hate it when kids get hurt! I hope she recovers from it quickly![]()
So sorry to hear about the accident. It is great how fast their healthy bones mend--also glad that she will only need the cast for 3 weeks. All the best to you.

Currently we are broken bone free. However last summer my 16 year old had major reconstructive surgery that sidelined him for 6 weeks during summer. No pool, no skateboarding, not even much walking due to the nature of the surgery, it was a long hot summer for him...
